The Spa was very good but I never expected extra charge. I thought it was complementary.

Nice 4 star hotel, walkable distance to metro station. Did not eat breakfast there but decently priced dinner buffet and lunch items. Nice views from garage roof top pool. Had plumbing issue with leaking sink but maintenance repaired it very quickly.
third class hotel with low facilities have to wait for lift like beggars and breakfast is poor quality

The location was good and there was a lot of space.
I was expecting to have a hotel room and instead I was given an apartment room which was filthy, ugly, and nothing like what was advertised. I am very disappointed with this discrepancy. I had to pay a fine to cancel and reserve a room in a nice hotel

It was beautiful and although close to the beach, was not super crowded like the hotels right on the beach. The breakfast that was included with our reservation was AMAZING! That alone was totally worth it.

This Holiday Inn Jumeirah is an excellent hotel. Location is great, it is near a supermarket, bus stop, restaurants, right down the street from Jumeirah beach, La Mer beach, quick and easy ride from the airport. Rooms and bathrooms are small but clean.
I loved the hotel, staff was very helpful and friendly.

Hotel is in prime area of Dubai & restaurants are just across the hotel building so very convenient to eat out. Morning buffet breakfast was also very good with all the nutritious food.

The most horrible experience. I was physically assaulted by the security staff with my Emirates drives as a witness. I was charged under threat and a higher amount than Pirceline had already collected from me was charged again on my card.

The Crown Plaza is a great value, adjacent to the Intercontinental and not as expensive. The Festival City Mall with Robinson's and so much more is right across the plaza. The design is very tasteful. It's relatively close to the airport.

Top Tips
- Factor the mandatory Tourism Dirham fee into your stay: Dubai hotels collect AED 7–20 per room, per night (approx. $1.90–$5.45 USD) based on star rating, at checkout. Save time by having AED ready or check if your hotel offers card payment for local taxes.
- A 5% VAT applies on accommodation, and most hotels add a 10% service charge on food and beverage. These fees can increase your total bill by 6-12%. Verify these charges in your booking summary to avoid surprises at checkout.
- Rates in Dubai rise by 25-80% during peak season (November-March), especially around New Year's and major events. Book at least 4-6 weeks in advance for best choice. In summer, discounts of 40-70% off city-center rates are common.
- During Ramadan, public restaurants often have no daytime service, but hotels discreetly serve registered guests. Confirm your hotel's dining schedule and room service policy, as options may be more limited until sundown.
- Transit from DXB Airport to Marina or Palm Jumeirah hotels takes 35-50 minutes by taxi, compared to 15-25 minutes for Downtown/Burj Khalifa area. Budget for taxi fare accordingly, as Marina routes typically cost more.
- Pay in AED at checkout and decline dynamic currency conversion. DCC can add 1-6% to your transaction cost; selecting local currency usually yields better rates.
- Registered RTA taxis and trusted apps like Careem or Uber offer metered fares; app rates can surge during major events, including New Year's Eve. For the lowest fares, use official taxis or compare in-app estimated pricing before confirming.
- Purchase a short-stay eSIM or prepaid SIM from local providers like du or Etisalat. Tourist bundles with 5-30 GB start at AED 50 (approx. $13.60 USD) and are reliable for 4G/5G data when hotel Wi-Fi is unavailable.
- If sustainability matters, look for Green Key or Green Globe labels when booking, as both indicate independent audit of a hotel's environmental practices. Ask front desk staff about on-property sustainability efforts for details.
- Check if a 10%-15% service charge is included before tipping at hotel restaurants or for housekeeping. If not, a tip in this range is customary; confirm on your printed bill or with hotel staff.
