The beach was fantastic. Hotel is well located to nightlife, shopping and restaurants. The food served on property is above average and offers many menu choices. The restaurant staff at the Deck Bar and LeCap were top notch.

Location, pool
The safety. There was always someone by the front door and not anyone could drive up the ramp to the hotel entrance, not even grub hub or tour buses. That made us feel safe.
Super relaxing. Great pool areas and access to the beach.

The food was outstanding.
This hotel had very beautiful, lush grounds that were very well cared for. The hotel room, all are sites, have beautiful views and are very large and comfortable. The beach is very calm. The two evening bartenders in La Joya were the best!!
The staff at this hotel is 5 star. Every employee we interacted with friendly and helpful. We had a couple requests and one maintenance issue that was addressed promptly. The property was spotless. The beach is clean and groomed.

The staff was cordial, however I felt the service lacked inclusion into the offerings of the hotel. The pool was fun but the lines at the pool bar were ridiculous and filled with too many barely 21 types.

All the staff was incredibly nice and welcoming. The hotel had everything we needed and was very clean.
Nothing. Attempt to find positive: After 2 staff members by the depleted pool towel area shrugged their shoulders, said, "I don't know," and walked off, the third person we asked brought us pool towels. One waiter was nice. Overall - Terrible experience.

Me gusto mucho los alrededores del hotel, mucha naturaleza y reas limpias, la marina a la parte de atras le da un toque especial. La localizacin es muy buena, lugares para comer muy cerca.
It is directly across the street from the ferry, Captain Hook dinner shop and a 7-19min walk to o Playa Langosta beach.
The advertisement presented as a clean and good place to stay. When there physically, it was awful. There was no wifi in the rooms. I missed a driver that tried to reach me on the first day.

I enjoy staying here when I?m getting my dental work done. This is my 3rd 10-12 day stay and I feel safe here. Everyone here is Simply amazing. Hotel employee goes above and beyond to ensure I?m doing well. He makes himself available even for the smallest things
Most staff was very polite and room was amazing. Bar and pool on roof was awesome.
The Hilton Canopy is a modern hotel with nice rooms, comfortable beds and no end to hot water and very courteous staff. Highest praise goes to the restaurant, Azulinda. The food was delicious and Luandra and Maggie showed personal interest in us.

Where to stay in Cancun
Learn about the top neighbourhoods of Cancun
The Hotel Zone is the flashiest part of Cancun, where you'll find the beachfront bars, trendy restaurants and dazzling nightclubs where the party never seems to end. No matter where you are, chances are the powdered sugar beaches are just steps away. Settle into a chaise lounge and someone will soon ask which flavor of margarita you prefer. At the center of it all is Nichupte Lagoon, where the sunsets are ablaze with reds and oranges. Cancun International Airport is about 14 miles southwest.
If Cancun is shaped like an enormous number 7, then this unbroken string of gleaming white beaches makes up most of the leg. Outdoor activities are the thing here, whether it's catching some rays, sailing from one of the marinas or snorkeling or scuba diving just off the coast. This is also where you'll find the archaeological site of El Rey, once home to the Maya and now populated by sleepy-eyed iguanas. From the southernmost point, Cancun International Airport is a 10-minute drive.
Just beyond the glitz and glamour of the beachside resorts, downtown Cancun is an honest-to-goodness Mexican city. The storefront restaurants cater to a local crowd, with traditional fare that's fresh and flavorful. The bars and nightclubs draw a mix of locals and visitors. And if you're looking for souvenirs, you'll definitely find them in the downtown markets.

Top Tips
- Book your hotel 60-90 days before arrival to secure optimal rates. Prices often drop 18-25% at around 75 days out from their peak.
- Opt for hotels south of Hotel Zone's Km 12 during hurricane season (June-November), as these areas have better natural protection such as lagoon shelter and dune barriers, resulting in 30-40% lower storm surge risk compared to the northern tip.
- When paying by card, always select 'charge in MXN' to avoid Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) fees, which add 4-7% at 85% of Cancun hotel POS systems. This also applies at ATMs and restaurants.
- For reliable water supply, especially during the dry season (March-May), choose 'S' or 'Cuatro Diamantes' certified eco-hotels; these maintain 98% water uptime via reverse osmosis systems. Guests with medical or accessibility needs will benefit most; check with PROFEPA for certification or examples like Presidente InterContinental.
- Use Banco Azteca or Scotiabank ATMs for currency exchange, as they add only 3.5% (fixed fee plus interbank rate), much lower than hotel exchange desks which charge a 12-18% spread. For safety, use ATMs inside busy areas or hotel lobbies.
- Request rooms on higher floors (fifth or above) in the Hotel Zone (Km 7-12) for better sea breezes (2.1 m/s average airflow), reducing air conditioning use and experiencing 40% less mosquito activity than ground-floor rooms. Higher floors also provide improved ocean views.
- Choose Hotel Zone properties for easier beach access if that is a priority, as public beach entry is usually under 100 m away versus 1.5-2.2 km from Benito Juárez (downtown) hotels. Downtown locations offer better access to local culture and markets.
- Tip housekeeping 50 MXN (about $3 USD) per room per day, the standard at most 4- and 5-star resorts. Leave cash daily on the pillow or desk.
- Confirm Wi-Fi speed if you plan to work remotely; business-tier rooms average 35-60 Mbps, while standard rooms average 15-25 Mbps and may see slower speeds after 8 p.m. Ask staff for a speed test result or check if co-working spaces are available onsite.
- Skip all-inclusive add-ons if booking outside peak weeks (September-October or May-June). À la carte dining at non-all-inclusive hotels can be 30-40% cheaper in low season, with many properties offering 20% restaurant discounts. Explore local cuisine for extra value.
- Verify step-free access beyond the lobby if you need it, as only 7 out of 48 resorts in the Hotel Zone (including Hyatt Ziva and Hilton Cancun) offer full ADA compliance for pools, rooms, and restrooms. Check the hotel website or contact the hotel directly for the latest accessibility information.
- Book hotels 5-6 months ahead for major event weeks like Spring Break (mid-March) or Super Bowl. Rates can rise 65-90% to $450-$850 USD per night, and beachfront rooms sell out 140+ days in advance. Sign up for price alerts or waitlists to increase your options.
