Quite and spacious room
The hotel was a great design and in good shape although there was major work going on in the lobby when I checked in. The location is good for a layover. It?s 20 minutes to the airport but their shuttle doesn?t run often enough and is unreliable.
The staff, free breakfast, rooftop pool and the atelier restaurant.

Decent size for Singapore. Many good food options beside Aljunied metro station. Good metro line for access to downtown or airport.
The 24hr staff was quite helpful at check in + out. It is a VERY quiet place. Room was small but very clean + contained new flat screen tv, fridge, in-room safe, and slightly larger than full size bed. WiFi worked great in room and throughout hotel.

Frequently Asked Questions
Top Tips
- Nearly all hotels, including top chains in Singapore, quote rates before adding a 10% service charge and 9% GST. Confirm the all-in price at checkout, as booking platforms usually display this during the payment step.
- GST paid on hotel accommodation cannot be claimed back at departure, unlike retail purchases. Hotel stays are not eligible for GST refunds under Singapore’s Tourist Refund Scheme, so factor the 9% GST into your budget as it is non-recoverable.
- Rates during major events such as the Grand Prix or National Day may double or triple in central districts. For loyalty members, book at least 2-3 months in advance to access points redemption or discounted rates.
- Hotels (from boutique to luxury chains) located within a 5-7 minute walk from an MRT can cost 10-40% more. Use map or agency filters to compare the tradeoff between rate and transit access.
- Airport-hotel shuttles are uncommon. Plan to use either MRT (30-35 min, S$1.80–S$2.50, approx. $1.30–$1.80 USD) or taxi (20-30 min, S$25–S$40, approx. $18–$30 USD). For bulky luggage or late arrivals, taxis offer a direct route but check for midnight or holiday surcharges.
- Wi-Fi is usually complimentary in major hotel chains, but speeds can range from 20-200 Mbps. For uninterrupted remote work, confirm business-grade Wi-Fi or consider a local 5G SIM; most convenience stores at Changi Airport sell tourist data packs.
- Tap water is potable throughout Singapore. Most major hotels offer water refill stations on guest floors or at the lobby, so you can refill your bottle and reduce plastic waste.
- If offered the choice to pay in your home currency, always select SGD to avoid extra fees. Most top hotels clearly provide this option at checkout; if not, request the charge in SGD to avoid 3-5% Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) fees.
- Local bank ATMs (DBS, OCBC, UOB) are available in most malls and many hotels, with lower markups. Withdraw in larger sums to reduce the fixed S$2–S$6 fee (approx. $1.50–$4.50 USD) per withdrawal.
- Hotels typically place a pre-authorization hold for incidentals, usually S$50–S$150 (approx. $37–$112 USD) per night, or S$200+ (approx. $150 USD) at higher-end properties. These holds are released after check-out but may take several days to clear, which can affect your card’s spending limit.
- Most rooftop pools at central hotels require guests-only access or advance reservations, and accessible pool features vary. The Marina Bay Sands infinity pool is restricted to registered guests. Confirm both pool access and accessibility before booking if those amenities are needed.
- Step-free access is standard in most international hotel chains, but boutique or converted shophouse hotels may not have lifts. Ask for an accessible room or confirm step-free entry and shower type ahead of arrival if required.
