The staff were friendly and welcoming. There was another guest yelling in the hallway and 0230 and the police were onsite within minutes - staff acted quickly! Pool had LOTS of dead bugs, including very large cockroaches and other debris - YUCK!!!
We actually booked here for the pool for our child, but it was dirty and pool was full of leaves and bugs, we asked if they could have someone clean it. They went and grab a few leaves, but not clean it well at all. We did love the breakfast!

The TV was too small for the distance¿. There was not enough coffee, cream, and sugar. You could trim the bush back away from gate your guess walk by to get in. We liked the inside look & bathroom.

Top Tips
- Avoid paying 20-30% higher hotel rates by booking 60 to 90 days ahead for peak times like Oktoberfest (late September/October) or spring/fall festival weekends. Confirm event schedules before booking to maximize savings.
- Fredericksburg is about 70 to 80 miles from the nearest major airports (San Antonio SAT and Austin AUS) by car. Arrange your ground transport in advance, as travel can take 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes each way.
- Request an accessible or ground-floor room at least 72 hours before your stay, as many historic B&Bs in Fredericksburg do not have elevators or step-free access. Verify room features directly with the property if you require accessibility support.
- Stay closer to Wine Road 290 (TX-290) if visiting multiple local vineyards, as most wineries are concentrated 5 to 10 miles east of Main Street. This can save you up to 30 minutes in daily driving.
- Pre-book airport shuttles or car rentals if you need transport outside regular reception hours, since many Fredericksburg inns do not provide 24/7 transfer services.
- Many Fredericksburg hotels are pet-friendly, but pet fees and size limits vary. Confirm current pet policies, including nightly fees and breed or weight restrictions, directly with your selected property before finalizing your booking.
- Schedule remote work stays for midweek (Monday to Thursday) to enjoy lower rates and less crowding. Always verify Wi-Fi upload and download speeds with your hotel, as some smaller inns have limited bandwidth.
- Account for approximately 13% combined Texas state and local occupancy taxes when budgeting for your hotel stay. This charge is added to all Fredericksburg hotel bills by law.
- Explore hotels located 3 to 5 blocks off Main Street to unlock room rates that are typically 10-15% lower, while still staying within a short walk (less than 0.4 miles) to major shops and attractions.
- If paying with a foreign credit card, request to be charged in US dollars to avoid Dynamic Currency Conversion fees and ensure your bank's exchange rate applies.
