It's a classic New Mexico hotel. Lots of charm. The courtyards are great for bringing my dog. The dog fee is fair.

We booked the kachina suite and it was very spacious. It even had a hot plate and some basic pots and pans and dishes. The suite had two large heating/ cooling units to keep it nice and cool at night and make lots of white noise.
Love the room and decor.
I loved its style.

Clean and recently redone room. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Cafe on site... discount for hotel guests.
The gentleman who checked me is was so nice and friendly!
This is clearly a 2 star to 2.5 star hotel. It should have never been graded a 3 star. Also, it was way too expensive a hotel for 3 star.

Top Tips
- Book Taos hotel stays 2-4 months ahead for peak winter (December-March) and summer (June-August) seasons, as rates can increase 30-50% during these periods. Early booking gives you more choice and a better chance to secure accessible rooms or amenities like pools and suites. Check cancellation policies in case your plans change.
- Taos sits at 6,900 feet (2,100 meters) above sea level. Plan lighter activities for your first day and drink extra water to reduce altitude sickness risk. If you are sensitive to elevation, some hotels can arrange oxygen canister rentals or provide local medical contacts; larger hotel chains may also offer complimentary water at check-in.
- Wi-Fi speeds can be limited in areas outside central Taos, with averages of 5-15 Mbps. Hotels near the town center or Taos Ski Valley usually provide faster connections (25-50+ Mbps). Ask about Wi-Fi bandwidth, router location, or upgrade options such as premium plans or business centers if you need higher speeds for streaming or video calls.
- July-September brings seasonal water restrictions in Taos. Hotels may limit daily linen or towel changes to help conserve water and support local sustainability goals. Ask about housekeeping frequency and request extra linens or accessible room amenities in advance if needed for health or mobility reasons.
- Taos Pueblo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has variable hours and sometimes closes for ceremonies. Check the official website or call ahead for current visiting hours before planning your visit. Many hotels also provide updated guides or concierge tips about Pueblo access.
- Parking at Taos Ski Valley is limited and costs $20-$40 per day. Shuttle services, coordinated by many hotels and resorts during ski season, offer a more predictable option for groups and help reduce environmental impact. Confirm shuttle schedules and pickup locations with reception before heading out.
- Power fluctuations can occur in remote areas, especially during storms. Pack a portable power bank to keep devices charged. Ask if your hotel offers backup generators, surge protectors, or in-room USB charging for added convenience.
- Many smaller inns and B&Bs in Taos display local art for an immersive experience. Ask at reception for details on featured artists or purchasing artwork. Larger hotels may partner with galleries, so request recommendations to explore Taos's creative scene.
- Historic hotels and smaller inns in Taos often offer a range of bedding options, with more twin beds than queen or king sizes in some properties. Confirm bed types when booking for families or groups. Request accessible bedding or specific features at the time of reservation to ensure availability.
