Although we didn't use the pool, it was very large and had extra hours just for adults from 10:30-12pm. We also had the two queen room which was larger than most hotels we've stayed in lately and had everything we needed.

Top Tips
- Reserve your Saugatuck hotel or vacation rental 6-12 weeks before summer weekends (Memorial Day to Labor Day) to avoid limited inventory and higher last-minute rates. For the most options, compare cancellation policies and amenities before booking.
- Staying downtown puts you within 0-0.5 miles (5-10 minute walk) of restaurants and art galleries. Oval Beach is 2-3 miles (7-10 minute drive) away, so plan on a car if you are located farther west or want fast beach access.
- Confirm parking details directly with your hotel, as onsite parking may be limited, especially during peak season. If you drive an oversized vehicle, call ahead or prepare to use municipal lots nearby.
- Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) is 35-40 miles (45-55 minute drive) from Saugatuck. Prebook a rental car or shuttle for evening arrivals after 18:00 because rideshare and taxi options can be limited then.
- Expect staircase access and compact rooms at historic inns, as many Saugatuck B&Bs are in Victorian houses. Request an accessible or ground-floor room early to secure step-free or ramp access where available.
- Some Saugatuck hotels and restaurants operate seasonally and may reduce hours or close fully from late fall to early spring. Always verify business open dates and heating policies for winter bookings, especially at smaller inns.
- When booking small hotels, compare direct property policies with online agency terms. Calling the property can offer flexible cancellation, free parking, or upgrade opportunities at the same rate; ask for written confirmation of these benefits.
- Michigan weather changes quickly—daytime beachwear is common in summer, but Lake Michigan winds can lower temperatures fast. Pack a windbreaker and sand-friendly shoes for comfortable dune and shoreline access.
