great location on Baltimore Inner Harbor, but huge construction project across the street makes it noisy and dirty and has construction workers looking directly into our windows so had to keep blinds drawn. Staff was amazing I must say.

Learn about the top neighbourhoods of Baltimore
There's never a shortage of things to do in this entertainment-rich activity hub that features family-friendly attractions to nightlife hotpots. Catch a game at the beautiful Oriole Park at Camden Yards, immerse yourself in more than 17,000 creatures in naturalistic exhibits at The National Aquarium, take a harbor cruise, explore unique shops and eateries in historic Fell's Point, attend an event at the Baltimore Convention Center or end the day at the Power Plant Live! dining and entertainment area.
Set about 10 miles from Baltimore, this airport area puts you close to the action, but away from the noise and traffic of downtown. You're also a short drive from the region's other main destinations: Annapolis, Maryland's tree-shaded state capital, is about 20 miles southeast; and about 35 miles southwest is Washington, D.C. If you'd rather leave the driving to someone else, commuter rail lines are nearby. Patapsco Valley State Park, with 170 miles of hiking trails, is a short drive away.
Found southwest of the city, this area is home to a massive mall called Arundel Mills and is one of the Baltimore area's most popular shopping destinations. This area has boomed over the last decade, which is no surprise because the Baltimore-Washington Parkway provides easy access to both Baltimore (about 12 miles northeast) and Washington, D.C. (about 32 miles southwest). It's also just a few miles west of Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

Top Tips
- Book Baltimore hotel stays 1 to 2 months in advance for spring (April-May) or fall (September-October) weekends hosting major events, such as Preakness Stakes or Orioles' playoff games. Rates can increase by 20-30% during these periods; early booking helps secure lower prices and better room choices.
- Baltimore hotels add an 11.5% lodging tax, including both state and city portions. This adds about $23 to each $200 room night. Confirm total taxes and fees before booking to avoid surprises at check-in.
- Fells Point offers historic character and a high concentration of independent hotels and inns, most within a 10-minute walk of local dining and bars. Major brands may have boutique properties nearby for loyalty members. Verify accessible routes and accommodations if walkability is important.
- Harbor East hotels feature modern amenities and easy access to the Inner Harbor business district, typically just 5-10 minutes by car from downtown attractions. Common amenities include 24-hour fitness centers and business lounges; check if public transit is nearby for added convenience.
- Downtown Baltimore hotels often charge parking fees of $25-$50 per night. Compare options with included parking or use off-site garages, especially if you plan to explore by foot or public transit. Some chain hotels waive parking fees for elite loyalty members.
- Major hotels generally offer Wi-Fi speeds between 50-150 Mbps, but speeds can vary by property or location. Check for complimentary or premium Wi-Fi benefits with your loyalty status, and verify Mbps if working remotely or request accessible rooms with desk setups.
- Inner Harbor hotels facing the water or main promenades may have street noise from performers or events, especially on weekend evenings. Request a city-facing or high-floor room for a quieter stay, or ask about soundproofing and accessible room preferences before arrival.
- The Charm City Circulator provides free bus service on four routes connecting key tourist and neighborhood sites across Baltimore. Using it can save $15-$30 per day on local taxi or ride-share. Most stops offer ramp access; request a route map at your hotel desk.
- Summer (June-August) can be humid, with average July highs around 27°C (80°F). Ensure your hotel’s air conditioning is effective—this is usually standard at major brands, but verify climate control and request accessible rooms at independent inns if needed.
- Baltimore tap water is federally safe to drink, though taste or concerns about older infrastructure lead many to choose bottled water. Ask your hotel if complimentary bottled water or filtered refill stations are available to support sustainability-minded guests.
