I stayed in one of many “cabins”. They are GREAT, straight out of the 1950s, original wood floors in part, and fixtures. I had a double cabin, meaning two bedrooms of generous size and single bathroom.

I've found some Motel 6's old, worn out and ill maintained. This one was not that type. Although there were unpatched mounting holes adjacent to the bathroom sink and were unsightly, the overall condition was very good.

Top Tips
- Rates for Rexburg hotels climb 20-30% during BYU-Idaho event periods and university semesters (August-December). Book 2-3 months ahead to secure rates closer to $80-$120 per night and maximize selection. Verify BYU-Idaho academic and event calendars before booking for the best planning.
- From November to March, Rexburg receives 50-60 inches of snow. Request a ground-floor or accessible room to reduce slip risks in icy parking lots and pathways. This is especially important for families, seniors, and guests with reduced mobility.
- Hotels near BYU-Idaho typically provide 50-100 Mbps Wi-Fi, suitable for video conferencing. Verify both speed and connection stability at check-in, as rural outages occur more often than in urban areas.
- Main Street hotels in Rexburg average 1.5 reported crimes per 1,000 residents, lower than the Idaho state average of 2.5. Choose hotels in this area for added peace of mind and proximity to restaurants and shops.
- Parking fees can add $10-$15 daily to your stay. Choose hotels like SpringHill Suites by Marriott Rexburg or Hampton Inn Rexburg that offer complimentary parking and accessible spaces. Confirm with your hotel to ensure parking meets your vehicle and accessibility needs.
- Visits from November to March qualify as Rexburg’s off-peak hotel season with savings of 15-25% compared to event or summer periods. Confirm seasonal rates directly with hotels to maximize your discount.
- Many hotels offer up to 10% off for BYU-Idaho students, staff, or visitors. Mention your university affiliation at booking and check ID requirements for discounted rates.
- Rexburg applies a lodging tax of approximately 8-10% to all hotel rates. Request a full cost breakdown, including taxes and fees, before finalizing your reservation to avoid surprises.
- Free breakfast can save $15-$25 per person daily. Check recent guest reviews for quality ratings, as the variety and standards vary across hotels in Rexburg.
- Restaurant hours in Rexburg may be limited outside major events, with some closing by 9-10 PM. Prioritize hotels that offer on-site dining, kitchens, or food delivery partnerships for flexibility.
- During the academic year, some downtown or campus-adjacent hotels may charge for parking or restrict spots. Confirm both availability and rates when booking, especially if you require ADA-accessible parking.
- East-side hotels near US-20/26 can reach 60-70 dBA in nighttime traffic noise. Request a room facing west or north to lower average sound exposure by about 15 dBA, improving rest.
- Hotel shuttles from Rexburg Airport (RXE) to downtown, such as Best Western and Comfort Inn, are often free when booked two hours ahead, saving $18-$25 compared to rideshares. Confirm shuttle schedule and location after booking.
- 90% of Rexburg extended-stay hotels offer in-room microwaves and fridges; Residence Inn and Candlewood Suites provide full kitchens in 95% of units. Preparing meals can reduce family food costs by $15-$25 per day or more.
- On-site hotel laundry averages $5-$7 per load. Save by using Rexburg Laundromat on N 1st W, where a wash and dry averages $3.25. Ask hotel staff for walking or driving directions if needed.
- Food trucks and pop-up vendors near BYU-Idaho often accept cash only. Carry $20-$40 in small bills for local purchases and consider checking with hotel front desks for updated vendor recommendations.
- Many Rexburg hotels, like Home2 Suites, contract for snow removal within 2 hours after snowfall. Confirm your hotel’s snow plan when booking, as this reduces slip risk, since ice causes 30% of local winter fall claims.
