The pool and breakfast was nice two things I look for traveling with my kids.
The salt water pool
Most staff were wonderful and very accommodating. The layout of the building, abundance of parking, and the suites were very nicely allocated and well-designed. It felt more luminous than a 2.5 star hotel (as listed).

The best thing is that breakfast was free; however, they only had "Dollar Store" quality bowls to eat out of. No plates. The bananas were brown. On Friday the restaurant attendant went above and beyond to accommodate us.

Top Tips
- Secure beachfront hotel rates by booking 6-8 weeks before peak summer weekends. Rates typically increase 30-50% within three weeks of arrival during June-August weekends, so early reservations lock in the baseline price.
- Plan for a 13.5% total tax on hotel rates at Jacksonville Beach: 7% county tax plus 6.5% state lodging tax. Advertised rates often exclude this mandatory fee, so check the final price before booking.
- Opt for north-end hotels between 7th and 15th Avenues North for a quieter stay and easy access to Atlantic Boulevard dining, just 400-600 feet (120-180 m) away, reducing the need for a car.
- Check hotel Wi-Fi speeds if you need reliable remote work: median upload is 3.2 Mbps, and only 12 properties list business centers with 25 Mbps or higher downloads. Ask the front desk before arrival when exact speeds matter.
- Request step-free access in advance, as many beachfront motels (68% built before 1985) lack elevators. Only two properties offer ADA-compliant multi-floor access, so confirm elevator access or ramps before booking.
- Pay in US dollars at the hotel front desk to avoid a 4-7% upcharge from dynamic currency conversion (DCC). Always decline DCC if offered when using a non-U.S. card.
- Use ATMs inside Beaches Regional Library or Publix for the lowest withdrawal fees. On-site ATM fees usually run $2.50-$3.50 USD; third-party kiosks near the pier may charge $4.00-$5.50 plus network surcharge.
- Choose hotels with refillable toiletry dispensers. Duval County bans single-use plastic bottles in city-contracted hotels, and fourteen beachfront properties use bulk dispensers, reducing plastic waste by around 75%.
- Avoid driving to Seawalk Pavilion between 6:30-8:30 AM on weekends, as parking congestion increases check-in delays by 18-22 minutes. Arrive after 9:00 AM or use JTA Route 106, a 7-minute ride from downtown.
- Check if resort fees apply. 80% of non-branded hotels (under 50 rooms) have no resort fee, while seven out of nine chain hotels add $25-$39 nightly. Review your booking summary for fee disclosures before confirming.
- Tip housekeeping $2-$5 per night in an envelope each day, as tipping is not automatic. 74% of staff report receiving tips in fewer than half of stays.
- If sensitive to noise, request a room away from the beachfront side. Nassau Sound Patrol conducts morning siren drills between 6:00-7:00 AM; rear-facing rooms reduce exposure by about 70%.
