The living staff member was very helpful and friendly. The virtual assistant that we had to check in with was extremely annoying, the process was very tedious and we will NEVER stay at this hotel again which is unfortunate as we like staying there.

This hotel had the worst staff to work at any motel, one employee actually cussed at me and no one did anything about it she should be fired! Horrible, terrible worst experience, I will never stay at a Motel 6 again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Room had cockroaches. Room was dusty and the floors needed to be mopped, sink was dirty. Bed was so hard, it was like sleeping on the floor.I used the laundry and the dryer didn't heat, so I was left with a load of wet clothes.

The “quiet” side of the hotel was quite quiet. I liked that we could park right outside of our room as we were on the ground floor. Proximity to the outlet stores and to Mary Magdalene Chapel were pleasant surprises.(walking distance)
NOTHING!!!!
The room was very clean: beds, carpet, furniture, bathroom, and vanity. My bed was quite comfortable (although my companion in another room complained about hers). In addition, the price was substantially lower than most other hotels in Camarillo.

Top Tips
- For late-May Strawberry Festival weekends, book your hotel 30-60 days ahead. Hotels near Oxnard Beach Park and Channel Islands Harbor typically fill first, as the festival draws the city's largest annual crowds. Confirm flexible cancellation dates before booking to accommodate potential changes in event timing or your plans.
- Hotels within 0.5-1.0 mile of Channel Islands Harbor offer walkable access to marina dining and Island Packers boat departures, saving 10-20 minutes each way versus driving or using a taxi. If you need step-free room access, request it in advance, as some properties have exterior walkways.
- Take the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner for reliable schedules to Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. Several daily trains bypass unpredictable US-101 traffic, especially during weekend peaks. Review current train times and fares in advance, as service frequency varies by season and day.
- Oxnard experiences a cool marine layer most May-June mornings (55-65°F), with afternoons clearing to the mid-60s to mid-70s. Bring a light jacket for comfort outdoors. If you are sensitive to cooler weather, check your in-room thermostat or request extra bedding when you arrive.
- Many beach hotels in Oxnard include free self-parking, a savings of $15 to $45 per day compared to Santa Barbara hotels. Confirm parking arrangements on the property page before booking to avoid unexpected fees.
- Choosing a marina or ocean-facing hotel room can reduce Harbor Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway noise, with measurable reductions compared to street-facing accommodations. Email or call the property to confirm room orientation before arrival.
- If working remotely, confirm Wi-Fi speed when reserving. Ask for at least 25-50 Mbps for video meetings, as many resorts cater to leisure guests and may not offer business-grade connectivity. Request written details if reliable Wi-Fi is critical.
- If planning a Channel Islands boat trip, note that Island Packers and other operators depart from both Channel Islands Harbor (Oxnard) and Ventura Harbor. Allow 30-60 minutes for pre-boarding and review each company's luggage policy before you travel.
- Oxnard's municipal water supply is treated, US-standard, and safe to drink from the tap at all hotels. If in-room bottled water is provided, check that the packaging has an unbroken seal before using.
- Monitor the VisitOxnard events calendar for peak nights, including harbor boat shows, holiday fireworks, and concerts, which can cause sharp rate increases and limited availability for single nights. For smoother stays, book as soon as your dates align with posted events.
