Room was almost perfect, breakfast was pretty good
Breakfast
their breakfast included bacon and fresh fruit which other Holiday Day Inns Express's do not. Also helpful front desk and quick service. I like that the soap and shampoo are dispensed from refillable bottles so saves the environment.

When I travel with my wife I have to stay in an expensive, nice place. When I travel by myself I am looking for value. This motel is short on amenities but I rented it at a great price. If someone is into saving money on stays this one is great.

Top Tips
- Book hotels 2-3 months ahead for winter stays (November-March). Prices can rise 20-40% due to snowbird visitors, but early booking may reduce costs by 15-25% compared to last-minute rates. To maximize savings, also set up price alerts or use member rates if available.
- Confirm 'central A/C' or a guest-room thermostat when booking for summer (June-August), when average highs reach 106-108°F. If you have health considerations related to heat, ask hotels about step-free access to common areas and shaded entryways, and check recent reviews for A/C performance.
- Compare airfares from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX), about 175-185 miles (roughly 3 hours via I-8), for more flight options and savings. Most major hotel brands in Yuma offer on-site parking and may have discounted rates for long-term stays if arriving by car from Phoenix.
- Expect hotel demand and possible noise during military training windows; large exercises at MCAS Yuma and Yuma Proving Ground can cause occupancy spikes and day or night noise. Hotels may post exercise schedules at the front desk; check on arrival for quiet hours or room location recommendations.
- Choose hotels in south or central Yuma if you'll cross into Mexico often. San Luis (the Mexico border) is about 25-30 miles south of central Yuma (30-40 minute drive), saving 20-30 minutes each way versus northern suburbs. Some chains partner with shuttle operators for frequent crossings, so check with your hotel in advance.
- Be aware of agricultural activity near the outskirts in winter and early spring (about November-April); hotels on the east or south edge can have early-morning farm truck traffic, irrigation odors, and dust during harvest. If you prefer indoor air, choose a hotel with filtered HVAC systems, and request a room away from the frontage or ground floor.
- Ask for government or military rates if eligible, or negotiate monthly rates for long stays; many hotels offer 10-25% discounts for extended bookings due to the military and contractor presence. Bring valid ID or employer verification to access these rates at check-in.
- Request a room away from the pool deck if you need quiet during winter (December-February), when average highs of 68-73°F make hotel pools popular. For greater quiet, request a top-floor room or ask about noise policies when booking.
- Confirm free on-site parking, as most motels and chains typically include it, but overflow or paid parking can appear during county events or military exercises. If accessible parking is required, ask hotels about marked ADA spaces and ramp proximity.
