Top Tips
- Reserve Antelope Canyon tours at least 4-8 weeks in advance for peak months (March-May, September-October) as availability is limited. Hotels in Page often book up in parallel; confirm your tour before securing lodging to avoid rescheduling.
- Choose accommodations within 4-6 miles (6-10 km) of Horseshoe Bend to minimize drive and parking time. Parking lots fill soon after sunrise and sunset, so plan your visit for smoother access.
- Opt for ground-floor or motel-style rooms to save 5-15 minutes during early morning prep for 4-6 AM tours. Early check-out flexibility is common at major hotel chains; confirm in advance to streamline your departure.
- Confirm early breakfast availability with your hotel. Major brands typically open hot breakfast at 6:00 AM, but independent hotels may vary. If you have pre-dawn excursions, request a boxed breakfast the night before.
- Book morning slot canyon tours July-September to reduce exposure to midday highs above 35°C (95°F) and lower your risk from monsoon flash floods. Hydrate before tours and bring sun protection.
- Due to limited rideshare options in Page, arrange tour pick-up or rent a car to avoid $20-$60 USD taxi surcharges and scheduling delays. Verify your hotel's shuttle or transportation services in advance if available.
- Prepare fuel and supplies before remote drives; the nearest major city for resupply is Flagstaff, about 217 km (135 mi) away. Top off your tank and stock up on snacks at larger grocery stores in Page before departing.
- Most Page hotels offer free onsite parking, but check for possible fees during Lake Powell boating season or on holiday weekends. Confirm with your hotel if you need oversized vehicle or trailer parking.
- Leverage hotel loyalty programs or book direct with chains like Hampton or Holiday Inn; this usually secures complimentary breakfast and flexible cancellation if plans change. Compare member rates for additional value.
- For accessible stays, request an ADA-compliant room and specify needs such as roll-in showers at booking. Amenities like step-free access or visual alarms often vary; confirm feature availability directly with the property.
