Hotel Guest Reviews of the Villa Alessandra

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Free WIFI and free breakfast. The hotel is located close to a public market and Arc of Triumph, which makes the hotel fairly convenient. However, the location is also noisy as garbage trucks are very loud when they pick up waste at 6-7AM in the morning.
Everything except what I mentioned above. The hotel has broken AC, tiny 20 inch LCD TV, tigh room space, bad odor in the room, broken hair dryer, loose bathroom tiles, dirty linens, and loud garbage trucks that woke me up every morning at 6AM.

I was assigned this hotel by Priceline when I bid on a 4-star hotel for my anniversary trip to Europe. By all means, this hotel doesn't even deserve a 2 star rating, I feel absolutely cheated by Priceline. I prepaid for a 5 night stay and the condition of the room was so terrible, but I end up moving out after 2 nights and decided to book a room in Paris Marriott Rive Gauche at the last minute. So where do I begin? When I checked into Villa Alessandra, I was given Room 405 on the top floor. First of all, the room was tiny, we barely had space to lay down our luggage. Secondly, the room was dirty, humid, and filled with bad odor. When we checked in first week of September, Paris weather was in the low 90s and high 80s with high humidity. The room assigned to us has no functional AC and we were given a small fan to keep us cool, which is untolerable as neither one of us can sleep through the night in that condition without wake up soaked with sweat. The double bed was essentially 2 twin beds pushed together, which made the bed seem smaller than the one from our London hotel. With that said, this was the worst Priceline experience I ever had and from now on I would think twice about bidding on Priceline. To put everything into perspective, when I spoke to the hotel staff, I was told that the ACs in all the hotel rooms were not functioning! How is that even possible!!! Lastly when I checked out, despite I voiced all my concerns, the hotel staff collected additionally $7 Euros for local tax from me and also billed me another $16 on my Visa despite I checked out 3 nights early! With that said, if I did not check myself into a Marriott, the hotel experience at Villa Alessandra would have ruined our anniversary. By all means, I do not recommend this hotel to anybody, and in fact it's my honest opinion that this hotel should be downgraded to a 2 star and be banned from Priceline. I'm sure the other reviewers would agree with my assessment. ...read more

A friendly, very clean hotel serving an excellent breakfast.
Unfortunately we turned up the week the air con broke. This chance occurrence wouldn't affect my decision to book here again.

The hotel is well situated in a quiet area with bistros and shops. There is a vibrant street market on the doorstep selling wonderful food. It is also conveniently just around the corner from the metro. This hotel was excellent value for money, perfect for our city break.

Nothing. I am absolutely shocked with this hotel (a four star hotel without air conditioning in summer, the lavatory not working, the dirty room, no wireless working, etc.), but what is worse is that Pirceline assigned it to me!
I felt badly treated by Priceline, because in your marketing you mention that you work with the best hotels in the world and this is completely missleading with the experience I had.

It had a terrible experience with this hotel! I booked two rooms (for my husband and myself and another room for the kids). None of the rooms had air conditioning which was more than urgent when the summer hits the mid 90's. The lavatories were not working properly (the water didn't flow through). The wireless was not working in the rooms (you had to go downstairs to the lobby to try to have wifi, if lucky!). The rooms were dirty and so small that it was difficult to place two lugages (mid size). Breakfast was very poor, as well! We stayed there because it was already payed but it ruined our trip because it was so hard to fall asleep with such hot temperature in the rooms and my family thought it was a low cost low quality hotel. However, which is the most dissapointing is that Priceline assigned this hotel to us through a bidding process. I am a frequent user of pricelin (when booking in the US) and thought it was going to work as well as it was in the US, but not at all. This was supposed to be a 4star hotel in Champs Ellyse area and this hotel does not even deserve a 2star. When I was assigned this hotel, I started reading the reviews which were very bad, but I didn't imagine that it was going to be such a misserable experiencie. In the marketing statetmente of Priceline, it says that it works with the best hotel names in the world and I trusted them. Priceline knew in advance that this hotel was far from being a 4 star in Paris, and in spite of it, Priceline continues offering this hotel to its loyal and frequent clients. This is totally dissapointing to me and deserves and explanation, because if not, Priceline bidding process will no longer be a good choice to schedule trips and I don't want other customers to have the bad experience I had (I was with my kids in their first trip to Paris trying to amaze them and imagine what happened....so sad). Hope Priceline has a better selection of the hotels with which Priceline works with. ...read more

goof staff
no air conditioner in the rooms, the smell of the bathroom, bad beds, the blankets dirty, and more things.

the hotel is hidden, which at night is very dark and not gives security. the room is small but that's to be expected, Uncomfortable hard beds with old pillows, bedspreads very dirty, has no air conditioning, just a small fan was all I had, the bathroom did not have a good smell, several outbreaks were not working for which all had to change. not a good hotel. bad experience that challenges the continue using this webpage. ...read more

Great location near the arc de triomphe. Very nice staff members who were accomodating with any requests.
NO air conditioning. It was 82+ degrees every day, and it seemed warmer than that in the room. The hotel is located in a courtyard that is extremely noisy. There are garbage trucks that start running at 4:30am, and we were awakened every day by this.

The rooms were small, but very clean. The safes were too small to store a laptop. The TV remotes did not work. The beds were hard. Our "queen" bed was actually two twins pushed together with separate linens. We had to sleep with the windows open because it was so hot, and even then it was uncomfortable the entire time. The Wi-fi worked occasionally. We really enjoyed the location, but would not stay at this hotel again. After a long day of sightseeing, it would have been nice to come "home" to a cool hotel room and have a good night of rest, and we did not have this any of our 3 nights. This was not a 4 star hotel by any means of the Priceline definitions. If we had not already paid in full for this hotel, we would have changed locations after our first night. ...read more

I would rate this a 3 star. Staff was nice rooms were ok but certainly not 4 star. I would stay again but nit for the rate I got on priceline which was more than the rate on the website.
