Hotel Guest Reviews of the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

good location. nice resturaunts and shopping inside
The room smelled musty / moldy when you walked in. Tracked it to the bath sink drain....smelled like mold. If you closed the sink drain and filled the sink with water the smell went away. Needs a good bleaching!!!!

Meal's were terrible and it took over 2 hours to get our meal and it was served cold and not very good. The beds were very uncomfortable as the edges of the mattresses sloped down so if you were on the edge it felt like you were falling off.

It is a beautiful facility. Given the fact that the conference was there, it was very convenient. The conference rooms were well lit, arranged and the sound system appropriate. A $10 gift card in lieu of housekeeping is great!
The RIDICULOUS HIDDEN CHARGE for resort use. OVER $150.00 for 2 nights. RIDICULOUS!!!!!

Location great. The courses were great and the staff friendly. Food is pricey and the he room for the quality was pricey. You pay for the amenities.
Parking is a bit crazy, plus the course had some drunks on it who were obnoxious and slowed play one visit.

The staff was great. The stores, fitness center, pool were not utilized but looked inviting
1. Room was located too close to hotel Bar. It was noisy late. 4 hrs. sleep. 2. No restaurant was open until after 7:00 A.M. 3. Car was broken into on night two. Lost side window. Staff did clean up though and covered the window with clear plastic.

all inclusive property. Did not leave for the two days. Service very friendly. Enjoyed the yoga class and restaurants.
My first room location was dingy and in the basement. For $---. I expected much better. The check-in clerk moved me to a higher floor

Grounds are impressive. Indoor tennis courts were a nice surprise.
Getting long in the tooth and it shows. Very few food options as you need to head into town for any variety.

Overall, it's a pretty nice hotel. I didn't check out any of the services besides the hotel, but it looked like there was a lot to do. The grounds are also pretty nice.I called about checking in around 1AM, and they were totally fine with it.
I reserved a King bed room about 6 months in advance for my wedding night (which I mentioned when I called them to tell them I was checking in late). When I got there, they put me in two double beds, and my rate was $--- higher than what I had reserved.

The hotel, room, and grounds were immaculate. The staff was patient and courteous. My partner and I felt that we had chosen the best place to stay in Traverse City.
While the hotel and lake view was wonderful, I was misled by website pictures and descriptions to believe that the hotel was directly on the lake, and that there was gaming inside the resort.

The hotel is maybe a mile NE of downtown Traverse City; close enough to drive to the downtown bars and restaurants and far enough to be outside of the local rush hour traffic. The paged shuttle to and from the casino showed in less than ten minutes in each direction. The staff helped us with the city layout and local events; we had no trouble finding activities that fit our interests. ...read more
