Hotel Guest Reviews of the Bacon Mansion Bed and Breakfast

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

This dingy and slightly creepy old mansion looks like it was inherited by someone with all the stuff and then pretty much left as is. My room was okay, but there is NO A/C, so a loud window fan was it for the night. The young man working there was nice.
The terrible breakfast! To pay that much for a mediocre room and be served cold cereal and a tasteless white muffin (NO hot entree) is unforgivable. The only + for this excuse for a B&B is the location. I've had better breakfasts at cheap motel chains.

The Bacon is not far from downtown by bus or light rail and in a relatively quiet neighborhood.
I would not recommend this b and b unless you are using the more expensive rooms and don't care about having only muffins. Our room was in the attic, where you needed to duck to get into the door. If you stood up from the bed you knocked your head.

Very lovely mansion. Owner very helpful and accommodated my diet issue. Nice location. Felt very safe. Used uber.
Hard to find street parking but owner let us park in driveway.

The mansion it's self, so historic and well kept. The furnishing were charming and it was kept meticulously.
The pocket door in the bathroom was hard to use if you pushed it all the way in.

I was in the Carriage Loft Room. The room was decorated nicely and was fairly spacious. The air conditioning worked well on a hot summer day. The interior common spaces were lovely, as was the courtyard.
Carriage Loft RoomThe bed was horrible! Rock hard mattress and flat, hard pillows. Didn't sleep a bit. The compressor in the mini fridge made a high pitched squeal while running. Walk-in shower was uncomfortably small (I'm 5'9"/150).

It had wonderful charm and was a perfect location for us. The operator was extremely kind in arranging for us to have an early breakfast, as we had an appointment before the regular breakfast time.
We had a 3rd floor room and there is no elevator, but we knew that in advance. However, the dormer room we were in had very low ceiling corners on which we banged our heads occasionally. Not great! Also the TV was maybe only 19", far too small to watch.

We loved the ambiance and location, so we may choose to stay here again. However, we would definitely try to reserve a room on a lower floor with more standard ceilings.
