Hotel Guest Reviews of the Hotel Macomber

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Very old but nicely maintained hotel. Location is great.
Beach view is somewhat obstructed . No elevator . Room is absolutely basic. Only a small fridge and a tiny TV.

It was located directly across the street from the beach and in walking distance from shops and restaurants. It has a cute, vintage-y vibe.
The room has a musty smell that comes with being an old building. Just bring air freshener!

Overall a very pleasant experience. Clean room with Victorian charm and up to date amenities. A/C comfort. Porches w/rockers a pleasant time passer.
Wish room had more than one chair to lounge in. Would have been fantastic to have coffee in room and maybe shampoo included in standard options.

Location was great, as was the on site parking. We paid attention to review's of stairs, no elevator, and packed lite.! The close location of restaurants was good. A comfortable and secure feeling for a beach resort.

Classic old shingle style hotel opposite the boardwalk and beach. Within walking distance of everything. Rooms were simple but clean. Front desk friendly and helpful.

Location
Stairs to the second floor where some of the rooms are located. Staff could have been a little more pleasant.

Good value, great location, friendly staff, had 'character' as opposed to 'cookie cutter' motels. Clientele also very mannerly, this hotel and dining room attracts a nice class of vacationers.

Location. Very quaint with lots of great history
The lack of elevator was a definite issue. Third floor with bags and numerous trips up and down per day was tough for older people or those with any health issues.

The location is ideal. Once we checked in we did not drive anywhere. We walked to the beach, shops, and eateries.
The room we stayed in was VERY musty. We really would have benefitted from opening the windows in our room, but we were told not to because it would freeze up the antiquated air conditioning unit that made a lot of noise, but barely seemed to be working.

The staff was nice, but not as friendly as we'd expected after reading the description of the hotel.
