Hotel Guest Reviews of the W New Orleans - French Quarter

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The staff was great. Friendly and helpful.
Rooms desperately need updated. Matress was worn out and gave no support. Pillows were small and flimsy, flat and provided little support or comfort. Valet parking price is rediculously high. New car smelled like a garbage truck when returned.

Room was extra large compared to most hotels. Walking distance to almost everything in the French Quarter. We went to their restaurant at 9:40 p.m., They close at 10p.m. The chef made us a cuban sandwich and cheese-beer soup. Both were excellent .
Bottled water was $5.00 each. Fridge was so stocked, that we couldn't fit any of our own drinks in.

The location was pretty good. Close to everything. Could walk just about anywhere within 5-7 minutes.
Staff was not great. Room only cleaned twice in 4 days. Dishes and trash in hallways . Rodents in the courtyard at night. Expired drinks in mini bars. Plus they lied to us and said they would give us 6000 points in return for the bad stay and did not.

Location was great. Pool
and outside area very attractive. Staff very helpful.
Paint smell in the room gave me a bad headache by morning.

Great location, lovely courtyard, terrific restaurant. But there was a paint smell in the room
and they were fully booked so I was given a complementary breakfast instead of another room. Room was not ready until 3 hours after check-in time, the remote didn't work
and had to be replaced
and the hotel guide book was falling apart. It was a treat night with my daughter so I was not altogether pleased
and glad I booked only 1 night instead of the 2 nights I originally planned.

The courtyard was pretty. Other people had balconies or breakfast nooks., or a view.
My view was a brick wall. When we went to check in they told us they were completely booked.

Once they accepted my confirmation they gave us what looked like an hourly rental with plastic sheets so cleanup would be easier. I was very disappointed as my husband and I had one night in New Orleans while he was on leave from Afghanistan.

No A/C our first night, did not get moved

The hotel was going through MAJOR renovations. Our room did not have A/C our first night and they were not able to move us to another room that night and gave us a fan for the night. Nobody from the front office contacted us about our problems until the next day around 10 A.M. when they told us they would be moving us to another room but asked us if we could please hurry because they needed to get the room ready for the next person. I was given numerous recommendations, but the hotel did not live up to all the great reviews. ...read more

Construction, drunk people in hallway, filthy room with hairs in bathroom and dust on counters, indifferent staff.

Stay away from this hotel! The only positive is the location - right in the French Quarter. I've stayed at a lot of hotels within the Starwood group and have always had good experiences but this place was a true dump. On entering the main lobby, I immediately noticed an empty coffee pot and dead flowers. Construction was going on outside and the restaurant/bar was closed. In my room I was greeted by a bathroom that had 3 hairs in the tub. The shower curtain was halfway off of the hooks. ...read more

The room was great and the swimming pool was outstanding.

The lobby was gross and made me wonder if I chose the right place and there was no hot tub.
