Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Buckingham Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

With only 24 rooms (top floor of 40-story building), it felt "exclusive"; I had access to something not everyone else did... The decor, the ambiance... all elegant; with hi ceilings and solid wooden doors and trim. Very nice.

The view!!
It was a bit off the main path, but not too bad!

The view of Lake Michigan was incredible, the room was clean and classy. It was a little odd that the rooms are at the top of an office building and Athletic Club (that we never saw). There is a private restaurant onsite that we didn't visit. Mini bar inc
The maze of elevators that must be navigated to reach the rooms (3) is a little confusing. The lack of personnel to assist with questions and concierge services may turn off some visitors. Parking was difficult to find on first arrival.

The view from the 40th floor was amazing. Mine looked north, so a look to the left revealed the Willis Tower and the right, Lake Michigan. It was modern and very clean.

Every room is on the top floor of the building (40th). Great view, new carpet. Breakfast during the week is eggs and bacon with fruit, bagels, etc. (weekend breakfast is strictly continental).
The bed was slightly squeaky, and the step into the tub was huge (probably hard for a person shorter than 5'6". Staff did not explain the nuances of the hotel (since it's in an office building). Pool/athletic club open minimally on weekends.

Overall a good place to stay, right by the CTA. Tub has about a 1 foot ledge that is knee high to step over (could be hard for elderly/short statured). The front desk staff gave no indication of where breakfast was to be served, found out that during the week it is in one location (athletic club) from the book in room and on the weekend it is in the lounge (only found by chance and snooping). Wonderful views and interesting location if you're a financial person (its on the top floor of the Chicago Stock Exchange building). The neighborhood is so-so, I never felt like I shouldn't be out at night. ...read more

It was a great deal. Close to Printers Row and the Icon movie theater. The workout facility was outstanding and the pool is excellent for any avid swimmer. The continental breakfast was great as well and very fresh.
The only bad thing is that one has to go through the office building lobby to get to the gym.
