Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Gold Spike Hotel And Casino

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Rooms are newly re modeled with LCD TVs. Very close to Fremont Road and down town. Facilities were satisfactory to me for price i paid for the room.
It has very less parking space. Will not get parking spot after 8.00 PM. I paid 20 USD parking ticket for parking over night on the road!!

Rooms are newly remodeled and is comparable to *** rooms. Parking space is very less in this hotel as it is in down town area.

The wifi internet connections were intermittent.

The wifi internet connections were very intermittent. They have 3 connections from which to choose each with different strength, and one connection had to be dismissed for another connection just from moving the laptop from one part of the room to another part, sometimes within a foot of each other. A lot of times none of the connections would work at all. There also was no desk to do your work on. They also had no backup power for the wind blackout the hotel experienced. ...read more

was perfect for what we needed for our time in town. affordable and conviniently located away from "hustle and bustle" of busy streets and close to the highway.

I got the room for a cheap price.
I was not informed about the $100 hold till check in.

The hotel and nice and clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. I was not informed the $100 hold placed on my card till I checked in but I was able to work around that. Overall, I enjoyed my time there.

Swimming pool and location
you had to get ice from the bar and then they expected a tip kind of rude about that.

I questioned the front desk clerk about hte room rate becaseu there was a sign out front htat said room rate $xxx and my room rate was $xxx. The sign did not specifiy Mon-Thurs so the front desk clerk told me because I booked through Priceline I could not get that rate. There was no ice machine so you had to go to the bar to get ice. The female working at the bar acted liek she was put out that you would even ask for ice and then acted liek you needed to give her a tip. The waitress at the restaurant was very unattentive. The Bus boy took better care of us than she did. She did not check on us once during our meal. The prime rib was awful. Breakfast was very good however. ...read more

Fresh remodel
THE GIANT FREAKING SPOTLIGHT SHINING INTO OUR WINDOW, and the lack of blackout curtains to do anything about it

If you stay here make sure to request a room on the North Side. If they only have smoking rooms left except for rooms on the south side, TAKE THE SMOKING ROOM. There are bright as the sun spotlight shining in the south side windows (specifically room 211) and this hotel does not have the blackout curtains to deal with it. We did not sleep well. I have a feeling we would have enjoyed our stay otherwise, very clean, and modern accouterments. Also THERE IS MINIMAL PARKING, avoid this hotel if you're going to be arriving late. ...read more
