Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Ellis Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The bartender didn't let me know I was going to be charged $112.00 for two drinks during happy hour but did warn my wife about price change once happy hour was over. A little shady I didn't complain and just paid, wasn't happy with service

Front desk staff was excellent. Welcoming, processed check in swiftly. She asked if I wanted to stay on all female floor, which was a nice offer. She also told about a fire years ago and the number of people who died, interesting but uncomfortable introd
It's an older building (historic. a bit worn down.) There have been renovations and the bed is nice, as is the bathroom. But my room smelled old. In fact, the smell was so bothersome, after several hours I still noticed it. Small room and no open windows

Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

staff was friendly and helpful

When I arrived the area around the hotel was blocked off, I was not made aware of this prior to my arrival. I have never been to Atlanta before and it was late at night. After driving around to try to find a way to access the hotel, I called the front desk was put on hold for several minutes and was told to pull up to the hotel and a staff member would move the cones and park my vehicle. It cost $25.00 per vehicle to park overnight, I am told this is common for Atlanta. At 7:30 in the morning the hotel had staff working on an elevator just outside of my room and it was quite noisy. The breakfast buffet was expensive and not good. There was little variety and everything tasted as though it had been sitting there awhile. The hotel was very nice and clean and staff were courteous and helpful. be ...read more

Loved the historic hotel with a modern twist.
Parking was a little bit of a challenge. Valet parking seemed a little steep at $25/day, but after paying the garage twice we should have just used the valet service.

Rooms are small, but beautifully decorated. Convenient location in a super cool building. Parking was challenging and would valet next time. Great room for the price.

The hotel had modern features and a great shower head in the bathroom. It's very convenient to restaurants and other things to do.
The road construction was very inconvenient. The rooms were very small but modern. The picture on Priceline for the King Deluxe is not an accurate picture of the room. I was expecting a room with a separate sitting area.

We arrived late Friday for a fun filled anniversary weekend and did valet parking for $25/day. Because the valet workers had Ellis Hotel uniforms on, we thought they were employees of the hotel but they work for Laz Parking. Three or Four cars were broken into including ours. They parked our car 6 blocks away on Luckie. The hotel staff tried to be as accommodating as possible but the valet service is a joke. Not sure if I will come back because it took a majority of our day trying to get our front window fixed. I do realize that no one can predict what criminals will do, but being better informed of where our car would be parked would have made us think differently about using valet versus self parking. However, we made the best of it and had a great time at Ray's in the city. The hotel staff did compensate us for one of the valet nights. ...read more

This hotel was not as pictured or described. The room we got on the 15 floor had no view and very small. The shower was to small and was not a walk in shower as shown on pictures. Also 25 dollars a day to park was a bit excessive. Also major construction around this hotel making it very tough to even find the valet. Acutally find the valet in a garage about 2 blocks away. I would not stay at this hotel again. ...read more
