Hotel Guest Reviews of the Super 8 Red Deer

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Price was competitive
Cleanliness. Helpfulness of staff.

The hotel was extremely dirty and rundown. Although they were completing renovations, the hallways and main areas were not kept clean. The call complimentary breakfast was lackluster and very underwhelming. The type of clientele that were attracted to this hotel could be easily considered the 'rig pig' persona and their accompanying trucks, cigarettes and drinking etc. Not a good place to bring your family. ...read more

Location for us was great. the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great.
the bed was too close to the wall and was hard to get into. the ice machine was broke but we were able to get ice in the restaurant.

We thought this motel was great. the room was clean. the only bad thing the bed was too close to the wall and was hard to get into. The breakfest was great too. lots of things to choose from.

Booked 2 non-smoking rooms with 2 queen beds per room: 2 adults, 1 child in one room; 1 adult and 1 child in 2nd room. Checked in and went upstairs - both rooms had 1 double bed. Went back down to desk; clerk offered cots- totally unacceptable.

I was told there weren't any other rooms; Called Priceline - after Priceline called hotel, we were made at another Choice hotel 1/2 a block away. Listening to clerk talking on phone to second hotel, since they had over-booked, arrangements had been made that morning to send people up to them. Clerk tried to push cots on us; didn;t inform us rooms were not what we had booked. Very disappointing and unprofessional - let us carry our bags upstairs without saying anything. ...read more

That staff was helpful and kind.
I didn't know it was under construction, but it was well kept for considering the fixing up they were doing.

They are in the process of making it a very nice motel. When it is finished it will look up to date.

This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. So dirty ! Very rude staff!

When checking out I was told the rate I had paid on this web site was no longer valid and they wanted me to pay the difference. I was so angry and will never yay there again

I liked the breakfast.
Smoke filled room on non smoking floor. No heat in room took hours to heat. Then had to leave balcony door open to evacuate smoke.

I would not recommend this hotel to any business traveler. The front desk attendant used my room key to scratch his sweaty head then handed it to me. The halls were filled with smoke and it permeated my non-smoking room. I complained however was not offered a better room. The heat was not turned on in the room and took over an hour to warm up. I had to leave the balcony door open to evacuate smoke. The free breakfast was okay. ...read more

Good bed. Close to good pubs.
Dirty hallways, drugs being smoked in nearby rooms.

Nothing worth mentioning, there are newer, nicer hotels for the same rates.
