Cancellation Coverage Terms and Conditions

Priceline provides a Cancellation Coverage Service (hereafter referred to as “Service”) that enables you to cancel your Priceline air itinerary within a defined period of time for any reason and receive a full or partial refund from Priceline, depending on the Service that you purchased, as set forth in these Terms. Once the Service is purchased, it is non-refundable and non-transferable, per the conditions below.

The Service is subject to the following requirements and restrictions:

  1. The Service is limited to a defined time period within which you may exercise your option to cancel your travel and receive a refund. After your specified time-period has passed, the purchased Service will expire and any changes or cancellations to your trip will be subject to the fare rules imposed by the airline or carrier for your ticket, and not eligible for the Service refund. For the Service to be valid, the following conditions apply:

    You must cancel your trip purchase using the Priceline website after the airline`s void window ends. For U.S. consumers, the void window typically ends within 24 hours of purchase of airline reservations. The time period within which the Service is available will terminate when you check into your flight, or if you do not check in prior to departure, it will end 8 hours prior to when your first scheduled departure time of your flight itinerary has passed. You must cancel before checking into your flight and at least 8 hours prior to your first scheduled departure.

  2. If you have purchased the Service for any Priceline trip, you may cancel that purchased trip directly from the Priceline website (note, this service is not currently available via the Priceline Apps or over the phone) within the allowable time periods, as specified in (1) above. You will be asked to complete an online form with your information and preferred method of refund. You will not be asked for other documentation, nor will you need to provide a reason in order to cancel.
  3. Upon a valid cancellation request within your specified time-period: Priceline will issue either a partial or full refund, depending on the Service you purchased, of the total cost of your purchased Priceline air travel, inclusive of taxes, booking fees, and pre-paid seats and/or bags purchased through Priceline made at the same time of booking your flight. The specific terms of your refund amount are as specified in the Service that you purchased. Such refund will be in the form of a payment elected by you at the time of exercise.

    Please note that the Service does not entitle you to a refund of all trip costs. No additional expenses other than the cost of the air travel purchased through Priceline will be reimbursed (including, for example, travel insurance, accompanying hotel bookings, the cost of the Service, or any other purchased items). Payments of reimbursed amounts will be processed within one (1) to five (5) business days as a refund to your selected payment method. However, if issues are encountered with processing your refund, it may take up to eight (8) weeks to receive the refund. Potential issues, include but are not limited to, situations where you input an invalid or incorrect account for your payment method (e.g., PayPal or Venmo), or if your claim is flagged for fraud or cannot be verified (address doesn`t match, etc.). If you select to receive your refund via PayPal or Venmo, you may be required to create an account, if you do not already have one, to receive your refund.

  4. Cancellation Coverage can still be used if an involuntary change is made, such as when a carrier changes the flight itinerary. However, the Service does not apply in the following scenarios:
    • you have already checked in with the carrier for the first leg of your flight itinerary;
    • you did not exercise your option to cancel your flight via the Priceline website at least 8 hours prior to the first leg of your flight itinerary;
    • a cancellation of any flight by an airline, including the result of a force majeure event;
    • any voluntary cancellation or change requested by you directly with any airline of any tickets subject to the Service;
    • for trip costs not covered in the purchase of the Service, for example trip costs added to the flight post-booking, such as seat upgrades or prepaid bags, will not be covered.

    In the event of such cancellation or change, your purchased Service shall immediately terminate and a refund of your Priceline flight purchase will be subject to the fare rules imposed by the airline carrier for your ticket.

  5. The Service may only be purchased at the time of booking and may not be added after the booking. The Service must be purchased for all passengers on the booking/ itinerary, and for all segments or legs of such booking/ itinerary. Exercising your Service for any flight in the booking will cancel all purchased flights for all legs or segments (i.e., outbound and return flights). If there is more than one passenger on the booking, the passenger who made the booking shall determine how to exercise the Service, which will apply to all other passengers included on the travel itinerary. Priceline may not offer a Service on every Priceline trip. Priceline reserves the right to deny the purchase of the Service to any customer for any reason.
  6. The Service is only valid for the specific booking for which the Service was purchased. The Service is not transferable and cannot be carried over to any future bookings.
  7. The Service cost is non-refundable, even in the case that you cancel your trip within the cancellation window.
  8. The Service ensures that airline tickets purchased on the Priceline website can be canceled for any reason without incurring additional fees. The Service Terms are not intended to constitute an offer to insure, do not constitute insurance, nor is the Service offer an insurance contract. The Service does not take the place of any insurance obtained or obtainable by you.
  9. The Service terms do not alter, amend, or replace the Priceline terms and conditions to which you agreed at the time of your booking.
