Hotel Guest Reviews of the Springhill Suites Norfolk Old Dominion University

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

You just can't go wrong with Marriott. I liked the room set up, clean and comfortable. Enough that I would be happy if it was my one room apartment :-)
I appreciate the safetiness but takes a while before the key card reader recognizes so we were sitting in the elevator swiping several times.Smoke detector in room went off in middle of night for no apparent reason in our rom and several others.

Hotel is close to the university and some cities University areas are a little risky looking. NOT the case here! This was in a very quaint neighborhood, quiet...and clean. There wasn't a nice view from my particular window but it was ok because I simply loved the room. The map says its about 30 miles from beach-seems we got to the beach fairly quickly that night...so if one wanted to stay away from beach area noise/traffic this is a good option. The next morning as we were leaving to book into a hotel closer to the beach - I saw some cute stores around the corner-like a smoothie place~! And I LOVE smoothies. I would definitely stay here again and walk around the area. I did not feel threatened I was quite comfortable. Parking in their lot was reasonable too; only $5 a night. ...read more

Close to the things we planned to do.
No

This is our hotel of choice when visiting Norfolk, mostly because it is close to where our son lives. But the rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is pleasant and all in all it's a very nice place to stay. Not luxury, but that's not how it's rated anyway. There is a bar/restaurant that serves the usual bar fare, and it is right next to Old Dominion University - a huge convenience for those visiting students. ...read more

Enjoyed the workout room, easy parking, and breakfast. Kids loved the free wifi. Good places to eat on site and within walking distance.

Hotel a little older but well maintained. Right on the edge of campus, so lots of close walking spaces and felt safer than in town.

Extremely helpful staff who was able to find a way for us to hold a small impromptu reception.
Suites were smaller than I expected.

Location is excellent. Booking on Priceline makes a lot of sense because the price includes breakfast and parking. Rooms are clean and staff is fantastic.

Very convenient to ODU university.
Not enough luggage carts.

We were in Norfolk for ODU graduation. The hotel was very convenient to the Convocation Center. Our room was ready when we got there. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast the next morning was very nice. Lots of breakfast food choices. Overall, very good experience.

I loved the suite! It had a cute living room & a comfortable king size bed.
Nothing, no complaints.

It was pleasant & quiet. We visited the Naval Base & my daughter's college was right across the street. Convenient location & it was nice to walk around the area.

location, the only positive
after spending over---- for 1 night having to pay $5 to park my car.

Staff excellent. Room clean, but rather small for the price. Its not the money but rather the principle of having to pay a $5.00 parking fee per night after paying over---- for the room.
