Proximity to everything you need. Walking distance to everything. We expected it to be noisy based on reviews we had read, but it wasnt too bad. (It is Waikiki, so we anticipated noise.) We were unable to keep our window open due to the awful smell from the restaraunt as I mentioned, so that helped control the noise I am sure. The pool was not open which was not indicated in the online advertisement of the hotel. This was a dissapointment. (I did not get the idea that this was just a temporary closure when I inquired....I did not push it.) Staff incredibly friendly and accomodating. Aloha spirit alive and well at the Shoreline, from front desk to housekeeping. Easy access to computers and printers, comfy sitting room near lobby and attached Mexican restaurant. (We were there cinco de mayo so we couldnt get in to eat or have a cocktail, but LOTS of close choices for food and drinks.) Charming hotel, but check out your room first. We would stay here again, but would be selective about our room. ...

Rommel (front desk) was great from beginning to end. The room wasn't very big, but sufficient for my wife and I. The on site restaurant "Cha Cha Cha" was excellent. "The sisters" provided great service. Happy hour is 4-6 and 10-12. Taco Tuesday is excellent too. There are also many other options within a block or two including jimmy buffet girl, chilis, an Udon noodle place, IHOP and Denny's and others. The international market is a block away also. Almost all of the huts/kiosks have the exact same merchandise, so negotiate the price YOU want. Great souvenirs to bring home. The beach is only a block away. But this is the busier/touristy area of the beach and can get a bit crowded at times. If you take a short bus ride along Ala Moana there is a nice park area that runs along that beach. This area of beach seemed like more of the "local" spot. A lot more laid back. There's also a huge shopping mall across from it. We bought the 4 day bus pass ($25 at any ABC store, don't worry, there's literally about 4 stores per block) to get around very easily. It even runs from the airport to the Waikiki beach area. But you can bring large suitcases on the bus only backpacks/small bags. ...

The hotel was clean and conveniently located near Waikiki Beach. However, the staff was not that helpful when it came to our questions; their reply was always I will have to get back to you. Again, the high speed internet was not working the entire time and parking was inconveniently off-site during their remodeling; which we did not know was going on. When we checked in, we were placed in a room that had less amenities then we paid for; no microwave, refrig, coffee maker, or balcony. I went down and had to show our receipt to get the correct room. They did fix that in a reasonable time frame. I would say the best part of the stay was the convenient location to the beach and the hotel is smaller, so not as many people coming and going. However, I would choose a different place to stay next time. ...

Good central location within walking distance to a variety of restaurants and shopping. Hotel parking was an issue because of renovations, the underground parking lot was unavailable. We resorted to parking across the street for $24/day, but had to get the valet to provide us a ticket before we left the parkade each morning. A bit of a hassle. Our room was basic, small but clean. The room faced the street so the noise level was a bit much, especially late at night with people whooping and yelling outside. The bathroom could really use a fan. Although it was a nice touch to have refreshments in the lobby, I would've preferred to have a coffee maker in the room. ...

The newer reviews said it was renovated which helped me choose this. I paid xxx/night incl all fees and taxes, but booked it only 10 days before my trip. The staff are great people. They made me feel like I was at home instead of in a hotel. Very friendly and helpful. I needed an extra night stay and they hooked me up easily. Price was cheaper too but I think that was because it was a Monday night. There's free water, coffee and WiFi in the lobby. Beach towels are available for checking out daily or as needed. The rooms were very nice and cozy. I had a 5th level room for 4 nights and 12th level room for 1 night. The queen size bed was comfortable, had clean sheets, clean comforter and pillows. The room had a 5 star cleanliness to it. The bathroom was clean and plumbing fixtures were almost perfect. Almost because the bathroom drain wasn't draining at 12am, but I fixed it and in the morning the maintenance repaired it. The towels were clean and free of stains. Hot and cold water worked and the shower head had great pressure. Air condition works perfectly, but only bummer is that the air flow goes directly on the bed. I rarely used the AC since my trip was in April. An LCD TV with HD channels, clock radio with remote control, safe, microwave, refrigerator, clothes iron/table, blow dryer were all available. All worked perfectly and easily accessible. The patio is tiny and the view I had was Seaside Ave and buildings. If you care about a beach front view then this isn't for you. It didn't bother me and I spent maybe 5 minutes on the balcony total for a 5 day stay. I saw no evidence of vermin. I'm allergic to bed bugs, dust and mold. My rooms were as clean as my own apartment. I slept on the floor one night and woke up bite free and itch free. Very clean room. There's a really good Japanese restaurant across the hotel. There's also Ross clothing store and ABC convenience store a few feet from the hotel. Waikiki beach is about a block away. ...

Family Traveling with Young Children
The staff was helpful and accommodating. The hotel is not called Seaside. Plus there is NO POOL, not even one we could share anywhere which was very disappointing especially paying almost
XXX a night. But the location was good and our room (after being forced to upgrade) was like a large bedroom. They call it a junior suite which translates into one large room and a king size bed and one roll-out queen size bed. To pay that kind of price, I would rather stay at one of the Aqua Palm hotels.... ...

I am a flight attendant and I stay in hotels 95% of the year. This hotel impressed me. Especially for the price. It was quiet, clean, modern, and chic. The staff was super helpful, especially my man Tyson. They hook you up with beach towels for the day, hold your bags for you after checkout, and offer great recommendations for your trip. You really can't ask for more in regards to location. You're in the center of Waikiki with shopping, dining, and nightlife. It's not expensive if you actually look around and go to local places. I also could walk around at 2 am and feel totally safe. Cool things to do: Duke's to eat and drink. Egg's n things for breakfast (coconut pancakes/banana macadamia nut crepes). For a little more of a rural adventure, go to the north shore and explore. I did a shark cage dive and it was amazing. Thanks Shoreline!!! ...

This hotel is in a great spot and free wifi. That is as far the pros go. There was construction going on every day I was there so every day at 8AM hammering would ensue on my hotel room wall. If there wasn't hammering then the maid closet next door was making a racket. Anything going on at the street or in the hallway sounded like it was in the room. They also shut the water off for an entire day. Parking was $24 per day and it was only valet parking. ...
