Hotel Guest Reviews of the Novotel London City South

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The location and staff were excellent.
This was certainly not up to 4 start standards. Hay broken. Shower handle sprayed all over. Room was written. Holes in sofa arms from wear. Milk in fridge for tea, but the fridge had been turned off.

The location was ideal for what we required, very close to The Globe and Tate Modern and with good local eateries as an alternative to the hotel menus. The rooms were quiet, reasonably well laid out and provided adequate space for our short stay.
The shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. Whilst kettle and complimentary drinks were appreciated, 2 teabags for 2 people in 24 hours was inadequate.Free internet was inadequate to access most phone apps. Only one pillow per person was inadequate.

To improve the experience for a hotel of this standing I would suggest the consideration is given to all points raised in this survey including creating more comfortable seating in public areas well away from noisy television (football at the time of our visit) towels in the rooms were hard not fluffy and only one set put out (we had to search for a second set) a sofa bed in the room provided comfortable seating and the swing out desk was cleverly designed. the bed was firm but comfortable however at least two pillows per person would be an expected norm. offering a total of 4 teabags for two people for one night might have been ok but only two were regular, one green and one herbal; this is very mean allocation given the price paid for a room. Continental breakfast is very expensive even for a London hotel so booking room only is the best option and eating out locally staff were friendly and helpful and are a credit to the hotel ...read more

The room was reasonably large. Good bus connections, walking distance to National Theatre, St Paul's, Burrough Market. Staff were pleasant, helpful - tho' be sure to double-check their directions.
This was not a 4-star hotel. The room was reasonably large, but not appealing. Bathroom was attractive but very little counter space. Toilet was separate (10 steps away), which made it hard to wash hands. Bed so-so.

Room set-up was awkward - linens and towels were of minimal quality at best.

The rooms, common areas and staff all exceeded my expectations and made for an incredible stay!
Nope, loved it all!

To all the other folks considering a stay at the Novotel London City South, I will simply say, it is an amazing place with a world class staff. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the London Bridge underground stop and has a lot of nice restaurants and a tiny Starbucks within walking distance. The rooms also include the nicest coffee service I have had in Europe, with plenty of sugar and cream to make it just right. I give this hotel my highest recommendations for both business and pleasure stays. ...read more
