The best thing about this hotel is the location it very worn but really needs a good clean there is so much dust around and stains

This hotel is well located near restaurants, pubs, and transportation, but it is NOT worth what you will likely pay for it. I was completely shocked at how filthy our "newly renovated" room was. The ceiling was cracked and peeling, there was mold in the bathroom, and the carpeting was pure black around the edges. We wouldn't even take off our shoes to walk on the floor until we were ready to jump into bed. I don't think I've ever left a truly negative hotel review, but this place was filthy and doesn't come near the 4 stars they claim. They'd be pushing it at 3 stars. I would never stay here again. ...

Overall, the service was very good and the location was excellent in proximity to the downtown core. The building has a lot of character, but could use a bit of a facelift.

The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Everyone was attentive and willing to help you with any request. In terms of the buildings condition things are a bit worn and run down. We visited the hotel the night of the UEFA cup final and went down to the bar to get some appetizers and drinks. Unfortunately the bar was out of most of the things. This was not a result of it being busy but more as a result of keeping inventory stock tight from what I could tell.

Would not recommend this hotel. We ended up staying another two nights at the Thistle and the value for hotel was much better. The location of the Millennium was the only thing that was better.

I had a corner room so had two windows, one of which looked out upon the ferris wheel in the square, which was pleasant to watch. Unfortunately, road works were going on right beneath the other window - until midnight there were jackhammers, saws and large equipment literally digging up the road right under my window. I realize the hotel has no control over this and they offered to move me to another room when I complained, but I opted to wait it out a bit. The jackhammers literally vibrated the bed headboard. Other than that, I found my stay very comfortable and enjoyable. ...
