Hotel Guest Reviews of the La Residenza

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The interior sitting areas around the hotel.
No views from the main area of the room. The breakfast buffet was not as nice as some said. The food was just barely average so I didn't even make an effort to go some mornings.

The desk people tried to suggest some restaurants around the hotel but the one I went to was just ok. Not so good for the cost. The restaurant across the street was very basic but a much better value. The other areas of the hotel were a little more Roman and nice to sit in. The tv was lacking channels and had mainly Italian channels and a few news stations around the world. I would give the overall hotel about a 3 not 4 for the price. There are other hotels in the area that are much nicer for the same money or a little more. The taxi service they call you comes right away cause they have a stand in front of the Westin Excelsior that is only 1 block away. You can expect to spend about 40-55 euro to get there from the airport. There are people that will flag you down within the airport and get you to take a taxi for 55 euro and you get to travel in a nice Bmw or Mbz, but I think you can get a regular taxi for 40-50 euro outside the airport building. There is a hop on hop off bus stop just a couple of blocks away. This is a good place to start your Roman adventures cause it hits all the main attractions, you can get on and off where ever you like and as many times for 48hrs. So you can check out the areas and find out what places you really want to spend your time in. A must is the Vatican Museum. Quite a moving experience. Definitely bring a good camera as there are many pictures you will want to take. If you are lucky like us you will get into the Sistine Chapel at the right time and you will get to see and hear one of the Cardinals give a blessing. There are definitely other great things to check out like the Forum, Colosseum, Catacombs, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and of course the Pantheon along with many others. Bring comfortable shoes and an extra memory card for your camera. For some of the best restaurants try La Terraza, one Michelin star, expensive but the views are outstanding, or La Pergola three Michelin stars, very expensive but the best in town. ...read more

The breakfeast was good. The location was very good. The room was large for Rome. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. It was very quiet in the room.
The decor of the room was dated. The room itself was in good shape, but dated. The bathroom was very dated. The tile, shower, fixtures need to be updates. Also, there was no view, but not uncommon for city hotels in Rome.

Spacious room with a patio
One of the reception people made a mistake about my hotel car reservation to the airport. The incident upgraded and it got vocal. The incident ruined my overall impression to this hotel.

Regarding the incident about the car reservation, the front desk was pretty impatient. We had a fight over the phone. After that the service got much worse. The reception desk treated me extremely rude at the check out.

Charming, beautiful public areas, great location
Ripped off by front desk staff -- breakfast scam

La Residenza is a beautiful, comfortable, well located hotel. At the price, it's a bargain. However, the front desk staff tried to charge us 120 Euros in cash for mini-bar usage. We did not use anything from the mini-bar. They also insisted that we pay 40 Euros in cash for one extra breakfast. This appears to be a scam by the front desk staff.
