Welcome to the Intercontinental Sydney
The historic high-rise setting, top-floor fitness center, stylish buffet bistro and prime downtown location of the Intercontinental Sydney combine to make it a top choice for Priceline guests.
Set in the restored 1851 Treasury Building, the Intercontinental offers 509 rooms with soft, sophisticated decor and built-in window seats (or terraces) from which to admire the breathtaking city views. In-room amenities such as minibars, mini-fridges, premium cable, room service and Wi-Fi make it easy to relax, entertain guests or get some work done. The hotel's 24-hour fitness center, which is on the 31st floor, features an indoor pool with a city view. Go for a reviving shiatsu massage or hot stone treatment at the in-house spa, or to the restaurant for a lip-smacking buffet meal of French-inspired fare and seafood, prepared at one of the live cooking stations. Don't miss high tea or cocktails in the lounge/bar. Valet parking is available for a fee.
The Intercontinental is at the eastern edge of Sydney's central business district, 10 to 20 minutes on foot from all the major downtown attractions: the Botanic Gardens, the iconic Sydney Opera House, Darling Harbour and Sydney Aquarium, Circular Quay ferry terminal, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and Sydney's historic Rocks area, with its outdoor markets, pubs and restaurants. The ferry, Monorail, metro and bus are all within a block or two, and offer access to points further away such as Bondi Beach, Olympic Park and the Homebush factory outlet stores. Sydney Airport is eight miles away.
Priceline guests give the Intercontinental Sydney a top rating for its "helpful, accommodating" staff, "spacious" rooms and "great location" near almost every major tourist site in the downtown area.

The hotel is superb to 2 other 5-star hotels I stayed in during my visit to Sydney. The room was spacious with a great view and service was amazing in most areas. The area which I was not pleased is the doormen and valet staff. Valet staff was very pusy and rude all 3 times I had to pull into the area including check-in, check-out and once when I had to drop off shopping purchases. Also the doormen seem to be consistently out of it. I travel with 3 50lb bags & after a 30 minute wait for my bags to be delivered upon check in, I had to walk down to valet (they didn't answer the phone) and request my bags be brought to my room. after another 30 minutes I had to visit the valet area and request my bags be delivered once again. After 90 minutes passed, I finally went down to the valet area and dragged my bags (2 trips) from the valet area to my 11th floor room. Very annoying. Upon check out, I waited 45 minutes for doormen who never showed up so I ended up dragging my bags down to the valet area once again. Where the valet was very impatient holding my bags as I went back to my room to get the last bag. Very inconsistent with my experience on the rest of the hotel staff and services which were all great ...

Spent only two nights at this hotel after our cruise. Hopefully on our next visit we would be able to spend more time in Sydney and stay longer.

I had an excellent stay at the Intercontinental. The room was excellent, with plenty of space and seating, and a great desk/office area. The bathroom was also great. One of my favorite touches was the self-defogging mirror.

No complaints about this hotel. It was convenient to all attractions. Except for the evening concierge, who felt like you were bothering him, the rest of the staff was nice and helpful.
