Hotel Guest Reviews of the Hotel Ruby Foo's

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

close to metro station, easy highway access, nice fitness center
poor value, outdoor pool useless in winter, outdoor parking, location

I ended up with this hotel as an express deal on Priceline for 2 nights. I was really looking to stay downtown but got confused since this hotel is labeled as "Midtown" on Priceline. Luckily it was close to the metro station but certainly not the location I wanted. Don't make the same mistake! I was really disappointed when I saw this hotel appear after I booked the non-refundable express deal. The pool was useless to us in December since it was outdoors. On top of these disappointments, they charged us an extra $10 per night to get a room with 2 queen beds which is necessary with kids. This was especially insulting since it was clearly not that booked at the hotel the 2 nights we were there. Besides all these disappointments it was not a terrible hotel in all. They gave us a new room after the first one had a strong perfume odor. It also had a nice fitness center. I would not stay here again though. Next time I visit Montreal it will be downtown. This hotel is a poor value for the money given the fact that they are not downtown but charge downtown rates. ...read more

The temperature in Montreal was 5 degrees. The water in my room felt just as cold and the heater did not work to a decent expectation. The room was nonsmoking and yet smelled like cigarettes. This will be my last Priceline purchase.

The Japanese style sliding wood "shutters" in bedroom. Free Wifi in rooms.
Older model flat screen TV did not have hdmi input.

Amazing hotel for the star level. Front foyer reminds you of 4 star or higher hotel. Rooms are nicely furnished. Washrooms upgraded very nicely with one of the best shower heads I've used.

The area wasn't too far away from old Montreal by car. There were some nice options for food in the area. We had a housekeeping lady was was excellent(Rhodie sp?). She provided us with a couple shopping mall options, and was overall a wonderful lady.
There wasn't really anything we disliked. The person that checked us out never asked how our stay was or never smiled. She did her job and was professional. It just isn't what I am used to.

The rooms were nice and it was quiet. I used the name your price and received a nice price from the regular rate on priceline and good value for the money. Our previous experience with name your price did not meet our expectations, so this was a welcomed relief. Parking was free, but no free breakfast that we seen. The king bed was clean and comfy and we slept well. Flat screen tv's with basic cable, but you can pay to rent movie if you were so inclined. It met our expectations for sure. Oh when we went over to the window we thought it was odd it had only shears, but the wooden wall piece slides over to darken the room. We would not hesitate to stay there again ...read more

Comfortable bed, close to Metro.
Dusty surfaces throughout the room, outdated AC unit, adjacent to a Jenny Craig, neighbors a strip club.

Comfortable bed and close to the Metro. Dingy and grimy room wuth outdated furnishings. This hotel has a Jenny Craig on the lower level and a strip club right next door.. This was more like a 2 star at best.

It has a unique elegance.
Located on busy street.

Nice clean hotel with its own unique style. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I stayed here nine nights Big selling point for me was the free parking and close proximity to STM (Montreal's metro or subway system - about 3 minutes walk from hotel). Metro is great and easy to navigate from a newcomer's POV - can hop on any of the 5 color lines with an unlimited 3-day pass which costs eighteen dollars. STM operates from 5:30 am to 1:00 am. Neighborhood is a bit out of the way and near Highway 15 but from my room that was not a problem. Nearby are some all night fast food joints and an adult bar but we never felt uneasy or encountered any unpleasantness and we were returning quite late each night. From this location it's a simple short (less than fifteen minutes) drive to the Jean Talon market which I recommend to any visitor for its range, quality and value of fresh fruits and vegetables. Free wifi and pool too. ...read more

The staff is what made our trip. They couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. From the way we were greeted; to the Bell hop, to giving us tourist information; to even the life Guard. They were all very professional.
