Hotel Guest Reviews of the Hotel Principal

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Nice ambiance. Horrible rooms. Tiny. Bad elevator. Management tried to rob us even though we had paid via Priceline.
Management tried to rob us for more money even though we had paid via Priceline.

The location can't be beat. The service is as horrible as the location is good. Typical Mexican theivery too. We had paid for the room on Priceline. They demanded cash payment...saying that the PL payment was "for the 1st night". We paid them. Our card was still charged..FOR THE ENTIRE STAY. We got robbed. Welcome to Mexico.Hahaha. Rude management, too. Horrible, tiny rooms. But, pretty "ambiance". STAY AWAY...unless you're fools...like us, sadly. ...read more

The location was the only positive that comes close to a "three star" stay. It is a one star hotel, if that!
It's tough to come up with words to describe what a letdown this place was. No hot water for 3 of 5 days. 2 toilets shared between 40+ rooms. blood stained pillow, rooms only cleaned a few times a week according to staff, & hairs on pillow when we arrived

It's tough to come up with words to describe what a letdown this place was. No hot water for 3 of 5 days. 2 toilets shared between 40+ rooms. blood stained pillow, rooms only cleaned a few times a week according to staff, & hairs on pillow when we arrived. There was maybe two feet between the bed and the door, which was like an old metal ship door. No ventilation because there was no window to outside. We had to actually sleep with our door open in Mexico City and risk the safety of our stuff because it was like a pressure cooker, made worse when others would smoke in common areas and it would leak into the room through the one and only tiny window that opened to the inner courtyard. Hotel staff was unapologetic about the hot water problem. It seems like too many rooms are sharing an inadequate water heater, because it kept breaking throughout our stay. ...read more

The location is excellent.
There was too much noise from neighbour rooms.

It's a bit old and it's not fancy. It's modest and clean and really cheap. The location is great if you plan to walk the city. The area is safe to even walk back late at night. There's a lot of stores, restaurants and bars around. Madero Avenue, a street closed for pedestrians, is just a block away. Clerks were really helpful and nice but didn't really speak English.

Location. Staff did everything to accomodate us. They let us leave our baggages before we needed to check-in. Super friendly and accomodating.
A bit loud at night, but it was expected because of the dates we traveled (New Year's).

It was a very pleasant stay. I talked to them before I arrived to try to arrange our luggage situation and they had no problem with our request. In fact, they were super friendly and accomodating. I would reccomend to anyone and would definitely stay there again. Location was right on. The room was a bit small but we were just there to sleep, since we were site seeing all day long. It was an overall great experience. ...read more
