A special night away was not provided by this overrated hotel
The size of the double bed, the reception and restaurant staff were friendly
We were charged £20 each to use the Spa facilities of a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna for one hour, management were not prepared to offer this as a free benefit despite them knowing it was my partner’s birthday weekend and it was a surprise break away.
The Spa was supervised by young inexperienced staff, we were provided with an old, frayed towel and had a 400 yard walk out of the hotel to the Spa building.
The bathroom to the hotel room was small and basic, with the shower providing a very lame supply of water.
The two course meal menu was uninspiring and expensive.
At 7 am on the Monday morning unexpectedly the fire alarm went off in the hotel, no warning/ explanation or apology was given to the hotel guests.
Overall we were disappointed by the standard of the hotel and had wondered why anyone would rate the hotel other than average.
