    Pros +

    • Location, facilities, service, great food.
    • Very beautiful place. Walking around and the scenery was wonderful. Walking the trail of the forest was also very beautiful. Staff is wonderful everyone made us feel like at home.
    • Excellent wine-centric chateau in Bordeaux with accompanying spa, pool, two restaurants, one cafe, outdoor activities, and a great staff. Legitimate 5-star property with updated, rustic chic rooms.

    Cons -

    • We didn’t have a chance to try the spa should have booked much earlier.
    • I felt a bit "othered" since I wasn't staying at the main property but the staff took great care of me.
    • Wish there had been a terrace with our room. The laundry service was a little off.

Beautiful, tranquil setting with lots of birds and animals. Surrounded by vineyards. the spa was wonderful! Staff were all super friendly.

Wish there had been a terrace with our room. The laundry service was a little off.

The place is magnificent with over the top attractions and located in a very peaceful and quiet place. The food also was above expectation. Room very clean and comfortable.

The staff is not proactive at all. We mentioned the WiFi wasn’t working in the room and they didn’t do anything about it even when we mentioned it was important for us. They just said “we will check tomorrow” and that’s it.

Staff wonderfully welcome. Beautiful location and relaxed atmosphere

Chateau de Thil feels very secondary and the standard of service and breakfast should be improved and need WiFi in the rooms.

The main hotel was lovely and the food in the restaurant was delicious.

The room we booked under the hotels name less sources de caudelie, however it was not actually at the hotel, but at another location, the chateau. This was misleading as the chateau did not have the same facilities of the hotel present unless going to the actual hotel so it was massively overpriced. It would be more transparent to advertise separately and simply say that guests can use the facilities from the sister hotel less sources de caudelie.

    5SteffanPosted on: 10-9-2024

    Rooms were clean and comfortable

For being a spa hotel, I felt it was lacking amenities like jacuzzi not working, the sauna was very small and only fits 2 people… it was also switched off and we couldn’t bother to wait for it to warm up…

Beautiful main hotel building but our room was not at the main hotel but in an entirely separate residence some distance away. Our room was large, clean and well equipped.

The location of this separate hotel meant a car drive so we couldn’t then taste the wine with dinner which is a shame when you’re staying in a French vineyard! It was dark and rainy so we declined the option free of push bikes along an unlit country lane. The house keeper for this separate residence was not particularly ‘warm’ but the reception staff at the main hotel were good at customer service. The food in the country restaurant (Michelin was sadly closed) was fresh, tasty and service was efficient. Lots of well heeled American tourists stay at the main hotel and it had a busy vibe as a result.

This was a highly anticipated stay at Les Sources de Caudalie. Rooms, facilities and food were just as special as they look and as one would expect. What will amaze you is 1) Every single person in this hotel knows exactly what to do in every circumstance, so service flows in the most gracious way and 2) In-room amenities, towels, bed linen, as well as every single product in every restaurant and bar is of the highest standard and sourced locally, rightfully matching the iconic Smith Haut Lafitte vineyards and the Caudalie Vinothérapie Spa. One advice for readers: Visit the château and the vineyards.

Beautiful tranquil surroundings, old architectural buildings sympathetically converted into parts of the hotel and maintained perfectly. Food at La Grande Vigne amazing. Option of wine tour at adjacent Smith Haute Lafitte vineyard definitely worth taking. Bicycles available for guests to explore the area a lovely touch and a really good way to see around. Indoor and outdoor pools fabulous.

Nothing - it’s beautiful. It is very expensive - not just the accommodation but drinks and food etc - understandably so but definitely something to save up for.

This is a stunningly beautiful place, hotel is right in the vineyards. Despite the fact that the hotel is relatively new, they made an effort to style it like an old chateau, with well-thought-out details

The view from the room is onto neighboring buildings. You won’t be able to enjoy the vineyards. The staff in the restaurant: it’s terrible. When we ordered dinner, we mentioned that we would order dessert later, the waiter rudely told us that we must do it immediately since the chef wouldn’t have time to prepare it later, even though the restaurant was only 30% full and it was just 7.30 pm. The waitstaff's uniforms were all stained, which is not the standard for a 5-star establishment. The jacuzzi doesn’t work, as they informed us since last year. The cost of the stay is greatly inflated

Anyone who goes should ensure they stay in the Chateau Thil - very special.

Can’t understand why they do not accommodate their hotel guests in their restaurants ahead of outside clientele- nowhere to eat on a Monday night other than a quasi tapas in the Rouge.

We booked a room at Les Sources de Caudalie but got a room in a building at 1.5 km that was dirty and not 5 star quality. Pure tourist trap

The property was beautiful. Staff was friendly and helpful across the board. Wine tour was informational with great guide! Room was spacious with convenient amenities.

The spa facilities were a bit lacking, jets in the jacuzzi did not work. Restaurant seemed overpriced for the quality/portions. Was mislead to believe we were staying on the main property when really we had booked a smaller building over a mile away and were told we only could use bikes (since we did not have a car) to reach all of the restaurants and facilities. Received a message even telling us to check in at the main property, which was incorrect, and had to pay a lot of money upon arrival to upgrade our room to the main property.

Beautiful location and rooms, friendly and helpful staff.

We were only there for a day so didn’t book any spa treatments. We wished there was a changing room at the spa for people not taking a spa treatment. We had to go back to our room at Chateau de Thil wet.

Amazing restaurants, beautiful location, all of the hotel and outer buildings felt very glamorous yet rustic.
