I had a really enjoyable stay. The breakfast was a standout — fresh, varied, and clearly prepared with care. It was the perfect way to start each day. The staff were equally impressive: warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making guests feel welcome. Their friendliness made the whole experience feel effortless and comfortable. I’d gladly return.

Very comfortable bed

Not modern, quite run down. Definitely needs some upgrading. From paint-chipped railings to broken light bulbs and lower level of cleanliness.The air conditioning is visibly old and loud. We had to turn it off during the night so there was no heating during sleep. Brrrr..When showerng, the shower leaks onto the floor and the wallpaper becomes wet in the bedroom, there must be a leakage. There seemed to be no electrical sockets near the bed. Whoever's idea it was to build the TV into the wall has not understood how sound works. Those poor speakers are talking to the wall while we listen to muffled TV sounds.The classic: There's mold in the shower. How does housekeeping not see that? The rain shower head is also full of limescale so the water goes everywhere. A never seen before: No hand soap in the bathroom? After a quick look around I found a 4x2cm small soap bar next to the sewing kit and shower cap. Interesting choice. A broken light bulb While showering the water randomly turns cooking hot... Ouch. It was pouring rain outside so we asked to borrow two umbrellas which is usually not a problem at hotels. We did not get any and were told we could have some once back from our trip.... Huh?

The enclosed stairs and elevator could be an inconvenience with luggage- especially with multiple bags. Having to open the door get them all in etc.

Location was ideal for me because I came from the airport and ended up going to the ferry port

As a result of flight disruption, there was a need to mobilise rooms in Amsterdam in general, I believe. Staff at Hotel de Zoete Inval had to work with significant increase in number of reservations and did so really well. It was an easy and pleasant experience in difficult circumstances, so well done to the staff.

We loved the design and style of the hotel. The staff were really helpful and the food was exceptional value for money. The bathroom was well presented with plenty of towel and a spare pillow was readily available within the room. The housekeeping was great.

Being a typical English person I would have liked breakfast tea and perhaps some milk in the room and a couple more coffee pods for my husband. My bedside table light was broken and to turn it on and off, it had to be plugged in and out of the wall.

Love this hotel the staff are so, so welcoming and nice. The showers are amazing best we’ve found on our travels and the food is good. Quirky bar and bowling area with lovely terrace for dining in addition to restaurant areas. Breakfast area is lovely also. Parking is easy and location great a quick Uber to Haarlem or a 20min walk to the station for Amsterdam or Haarlem. We did get Ubers to Amsterdam and back for total 80e for four which we thought was ok as it was stormy.

We’ve come here a few times over the last few years and the bedroom we were in this time was looking tired and in need of a refurbishment. The shower stall really needed some deep cleaning also as mildew and limescale build up were very obvious.

A hotel located outside the cities on the main highway,easy access by car to this entire area of ​​the Netherlands,convenient parking and a great hotel,a reasonable breakfast and in the evening there is a restaurant and bowling to pass the time, the minibar in the room contains drinks included in the price which made our time pleasant and the room had a jacuzzi

One day at the bar at the restaurant in the bowling area, we ask for service, they bring us something too drink, after we ask the waitress for service by waving our hands, that we was ready to order food.She did not come back not even too collect the money for the drinks. I went to another waiter to pay for the drinks.

Comfortable hotel with good restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good base for visiting North Holland, but need own transport. Large free car park available.

Wardrobe space was a little small and some shelves awkward to reach.
