- The welcome from the receptionist at the hotel was really not very good . We arrived cold and hungry at lunchtime and we were early to check in by about an hour. We were made to wait outside the hotel . Eventually they did make us a very nice lunch , but the welcome was cold and unhelpful. The older lady was better and had more sense of how to deal with clients. We were taking three rooms for two mights so a bit more effort would have been good . Plus I am afraid the location of the hotel is not that wonderful - one night would have been fine .

The restaurant and the food was wonderful and it was worth going just for that . The meal really was very memorable and this chef would have more Michelin stars in a different location . Easily as good as both three star restaurants we have eaten in . I should say these Chefs as it is a father and son combo . They both made the effort to come out of the kitchen to say hello at the end of a truly brilliant meal .
