Pros +
- Location was great. We were stuck there for a whole day unable to leave due to snow, but we didn’t mind. My kids loved the pool. The food was delicious and room service was timely. Everything was clean. Housekeeping left my son a surprise while we were at the pool since we were there celebrating his birthday. Was the best hotel to be snowed in at in my opinion! Also, the day we left, the best road we encountered was the hill the hotel was on. They made sure it was safe and drivable!
- We love the Park Vista and have been staying here for 15 years because of the service and great views we’ve always gotten, this time was the exception.
- The property was beautiful, clean, and matched expectations set by the website. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff members were all gracious, kind, and accommodating.
Cons -
- Food was a little pricey. Also wasn’t a huge fan of the pillows but that’s a personal preference thing.
- Traveling with a double amputee isn’t easy but it is made worse when things are labeled as accessible when they are not. The power door for the room didn’t open wide enough for the wheelchair. The bathroom was badly water damaged from the roll in shower not being graded properly. The pullout bed was more like a cot than a bed and no extra blankets so it was very chilly. There was also an employee who does not meet the standards of the brand or this hotel. She treated guests like an inconvenience and rushed us away to continue her conversation on her personal phone. At checkout this woman was again too consumed in her phone conversation to assist me and I had to wait for other employees to come to the desk.
- The restaurant pricing was expensive, but it matched the high standards set by the hotel facilities; unfortunately, the actual quality of the food was more on par with a Shoney’s than an upscale hotel. $40 for an anniversary dinner was perfectly acceptable until we realized that we got a paper-thin, over-salted ribeye steak and undercooked vegetables. The lava cake and cheesecake both had the taste and texture of frozen desserts you can pick up at any big box store. The breakfast was no better. Though we obviously can’t prove it, the food tasted pre-packaged and frozen. Ultimately, the restaurant, though visually pleasing, was a disappointment that felt like being scammed.
