Courtyard by Marriott Pittsburgh University Center

There was quite a bit of snow on our second day at the hotel. One of the chefs wasn't able to make it in and they were short staffed. However, Lily-Rose and a few other staff members did an excellent job making up for it. They extended the breakfast time so we could get breakfast and even compted one of our meals.Also, the gate for the parking was having issues and I had to call in several time to get the gate open. When I check out, the hotel covered my parking cost due to the inconvenience. Overall, any issues were quickly taken care of and the staff were absolutely brilliant!I average about 150 hotel nights a year so I am familiar with good hotel protical. This hotel did great!

No one cleaned our room. Somehow we were forgotten? They were short staffed due to the huge snow storm so maybe that's why? They brought up towels and soap so they did try to fix it the best they could. Any issue we had with parking or the breakfast was completely resolved by the staff. They really made our stay a good experience.

Location is great and the rooms are very nice. Everything was super clean.

Parking is ridiculous. The garage is confusing and EXPENSIVE. If you pull into the side lot and there are no spaces you get charged $8 to get out. when we asked if something could be done the employee gave her a coupon for a free craft beer which we didn't want. Except for one staff member who was incredibly kind the rest of the staff was rude. We were there for my husband to have surgery at Upmc and these things made the trip way more stressful.

I liked the location and the proximity to the downtown area.

The pool was not heated and cold. I did not like the lack of breakfast items in the mornings.

High prices for a "city hotel". The room was connected to another room, so I could hear the entire 6h phone conversation the other guest was having loudly in the middle of the night. Breakfast was paid, but small portions. Restaurant didn't let me eat a sandwich at a table despite buying a Margarita there, they told me to go away.

Room and bed were comfortable.

Parking was limited.

Location was excellent. The hotel/room was beautiful and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rate for the night was excellent. Perfect all around.

Minor - the water from the machine in the gym was warm. I just added ice so it was not a big deal.

Room had all the comforts, spacious too. Bathroom was clean with all the amenities (except spa robe- but I don't expect that at this price point). Room to unpack and nice touch- a suitcase spot. My room had a view of a local landmark. TV will stream from your own streaming accounts, which makes sense these days. One block from the Cathedral of Learning at University of Pittsburgh- don't miss it!

Breakfast at the cafe was a reheated breakfast sandwich. Rather expensive for what it was. But the staff were very nice and friendly. The cafe is inviting too. I don't like having to make an account at Bonvoy Marriot in order to get wifi. I really don't need more ads and emails coming at me.

Absolutely beautiful hotel! Gentlemen at the front desk were great!. Jermaine checked us out and had me laughing at 630am- which is hard to do, especially when there is no coffee in my system yet :). I do not remember the name of the man who checked us in, but he was equally as helpful and funny! The workers at the bar were wonderful, too! Nicholas and the other two younger bartenders ensured that we were well taken care of the two nights we came down for drinks. We were able to laugh and have a good time sitting there, which we really enjoyed. The two ladies who made my coffee in the morning were equally as pleasant and extremely helpful.I'm sorry I can't remember everyone's name from our stay, but they were all absolutely amazing!

Location is good. Close to both university and 28X bus stop.

Quite expensive for my two days stay. May be there is a festival during the weekend and the price is really high.
