Hôtel Restaurant Le Lachens

When we first checked our room was very cold and no heat was turned on. The chef/manager moved us into a larger heated room. Very happy !We are in France on a cycling trip and we chose to stay in La Bastide because of its central location. We also stayed because we had been there 11 years ago and remembered the restaurant fondly.

I do not think the restaurant lived up to our memory or expectation. We enjoyed the ‘mystery’ menu but did not see the chef on either of our evenings that we dined there. The menu was interesting but not executional. The monsieur serving us was exceptional. I felt that the hotel (3 star rating) had become a little like a daycare as the owner/chef was young children and they are very present.

Great location not far from the motorway(around 55-60km),spectacular view from motorway A8 to the location,the food was tasty and stylish,the stuff was kind and friendly! A pleasant stay !

The location, quiet, pretty garden. Easy to park.

Not accessible for travellers with mobility problems.

The breakfast was great, comfortable beds, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Totally worth it!

Le Lachens indeed turned out to be a real gem in the middle of almost nowhere:) An extremely friendly, cosy and welcoming family-run hotel with clean and comfy rooms, big ensuit bathrooms, good buffet breakfast with a very decent selection. A surprise dinner is worth a separate mentioning! We ordered 7 dishes to share between 2, not knowing what it would be before it was served (however, we could warn beforehand about the food we don't eat) - a complete choice of the chef. All our doubts disappeared once we were served absolutely lovely and delicious sets of entrees, main dish, cheese plate and desert - apparently all the cheeses were produced by the local farmers. We never regretted ordering this surprise dinner, and guessing the ingredients of the dishes was an additional fun! Highly recommended!

The prices of the drinks in the bar could be a little lower:)

Local food is something like "must try" delicious experience. We like it so much!

Some of the employees has zero english language skills :) I know that in general french people don't like England so much, but it would be nice to accept the fact the english is world language which is taught all over the world and used by many travellers.

Beautiful location, small village, no public lighting after midnight só you can see the stars. Typical old builing, nice garden.

Sincs fhe building is old, it has a naturally bad, watery smell after a certain Time, but no air consitioning is placed,. Which wouldn't be a össze but IT was 42C when we erre there so opening the window was not.the Best option.

Lovely location, very quiet but great for exploring heut Provence. Staff great and food fabulous.

Quiet location

Food and drink too expensive. Food was top quality but that comes at premium price. I would consider that a rare treat not every day food. For this reason we mostly ate elsewhere.

No air conditioning or a fan, a fly screen would have meant that you could leave the window open. Shower head not fixed to the wall correctly. The biggest issue was the food, who wants 5 courses every night? Have a proper menu with proper choices, no wonder the restaurant was nearly always empty. Stop being pretentious and offer guests something they want. Who wants to guess what they'll be served. We ate elsewhere most nights as too expensive and I don't want to have to guess what I'll be served. Get over yourselves, you're not a Michelin restaurant.Owners were not very helpful and offered barely any acknowledgement of the guests, or should I say cash cows. All in all a very disappointing stay.

The staff was very helpful. I had to clean my car, because I spilled instant coffee all over, and they lend me a vacuum cleaner. It was very windy, and some loose door was making noise, and they fixed it for me right away.

The 5 course meal was excellent
