Very beautiful and great location

We were only provided with 4 pillows and they were half the size of a pancake. We woke up with our necks in extreme pain. The room was also insanely hot. We used the control to turn it down but it never got below about 68 degrees until probably the middle of the night.

The hotel is in a great location and the common areas are very nice. The staff are incredible!

Rooms are small and very dated. Clean but with some maintenance issues for plumbing and fixtures. I would not book here again for the price until they have upgraded significantly.

The lobby is beautiful, the door staff are amazing. The location is perfect

The room was very rundown. The bathroom door wouldn't close fully. The hot water was not consistent temperature. The room had a smell. The hotel looks good from outside but rundown inside. The didn't even have a minifridge in the room, though they got us one once we requested.

The location was great. Views of the lake were great. Check-in was easy. The rooms were clean.

While the lobby area was decorated with beautiful flower arrangements the rest of hotel seemed worn out and stripped down. Lobby furniture was sloppy. The rooms were not decorated and seemed stripped of any extra accent items. Like an empty apartment. Our 2nd room had twin beds and a sitting area. It was a very large room and the view was amazing but the furniture was shabby and well-used -not a space you wanted to sit in. All and all you could imagine how beautiful the rooms use to be but they are just not kept up. Thankfully the rooms were clean but there was still a feeling of emptiness like they just stop the grand gestures and left things basic. Given its location and that it was a decent place to sleep the Drake was fine. However we won't choose to stay there next time.

The hotel was beautiful and in a great location close to shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed the bar inside the hotel, the dirty martini was the highlight of my birthday trip. We really enjoyed doing the valet parking because driving and parking in Chicago can be overwhelming.

Location is excellent. I did not eat any meals there.

Upgrading to a lakefront view cost $150 a night more.

The location is excellent. On the northern most part of the Mag Mile. Bordering Lake Shore Drive, North Avenue Beach and steps from Oak Street boutiques. The neighborhood is safe and offers so much within a few minutes walk. Major CTA bus stops 1 block away and the subway is a 10 minute walk. There are loads of dining options within a 5-10 walk. There’s a Lavazza coffee shop in the arcade on the ground floor. The Drake is a venerable hotel. Our room was clean, quiet and spacious.

My only regret is that they only use the Palm Court for high tea. We used to have cocktails in the Palm Court for decades and now the entire room is closed unless they are serving high tea. I would love to see them open the space up for a champagne bar or cocktail bar, some way to experience the space without having the whole high tea thing. It’s a one time experience for me, the cost is exorbitant and the offerings tasted like boring hotel catering. The Coq d’Or, the only bar in the hotel, is tiny. It’s always crowded and super dark.
