Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach

Excellent location

Excellent view and easy access to the beach. Clean and comfortable room. The restaurant offers excellent service and good food.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The location was perfect, close to everything and easy to get around. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the service throughout my stay was top-notch. I also really enjoyed the on-site restaurant; the food was delicious and convenient after a long day out. Highly recommend for both comfort and convenience!

Booked A superior deluxe ocean from but had a view of the street with partial view of the ocean. The water in the bathroom had a light yellow color - chose to use bottled water for teeth brushing. The shower did not work and did not get fixed prior to us going to sleep. There were hairs in the tub that were clearly not ours which makes us question how it was cleaned. We were exhausted from a long day and had a very early rise the next day so we did not contact hotel management. But I will not stay again.

I liked that it is a smaller and quiet, stress-free hotel. The elevators were fast never had to wait, and nice element of the people staying at this hotel. Everything was clean and had a calming atmosphere. Staff at front were pleasant and some friendly. The view from room window was very nice to see the ocean, but personally I do prefer a balcony. Bed was very comfortable, and room was quiet for sleeping. The housekeeping staff were courteous, not loud and nosy like at some other hotels.

My main complaint would be the air-conditioning system. Guests should be able to set the desired temperature, and room should warm/cool to that temperature. I had to call front desk as it was freezing down into 60's even though it was set to 74. Maintenance made it better but took 2 days for the thermostat to get to desired temps. Room was small and bathroom had nowhere to hang wet towels/bathing suits. Beach chairs taken away at 5 PM is ridiculous when there is plenty of sun/warmth to enjoy the beach! The seaweed was horrid and the ability to walk on shoreline impossible as it was seaweed and then a drop-off into the water! Very disappointed in beach.

Noise from the terrace bar was unbearable-unable to sleep. BOOM BOOM BOOM music all night. They list their closing hours as "Late." Patrons screaming in the hallways at all hours. Stayed three nights, and despite putting out the sign that said "Room ready for service," nobody came for three days to our room. They charge you an exorbitant "Resort" fee for all the extra noise and lack of service. I've stayed there three times now: My First, Last, and Only.

Great location and nice facility. Christmas trees in lobby and restaurant were beautiful.

Instructions for inclusive breakfast were not discussed. At the end of our stay there were “over charges” for the breakfast because they didn’t have the buffet and we had to order off the menu. Apparently there was a cap but when we went down for breakfast the waitress said they didn’t have the buffet so we could just order what we wanted off the menu. We didn’t order the most expensive dish or anything like that but ended up with an unexplained extra $50 on our bill with no room for discussion except that was what it was. Man at the front desk was not very friendly at all. We had lightbulbs out in our room and no one ever showed up to replace after we told him. For the amount of money we spent we only got the first day (2) bottled waters, not during our stay. Front door didn’t open and close and we had to pry it open a few times.

Nice location. Some staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely warm pool and complementary loungers on beach.

Double Beds in room were on the small size. No opening windows so room got stuffy. Bar closed at 9.00pm . Rooms only made up if requested.
