    Pros +

    • Great Belgian experience & food...attentive staff. Be careful about staying on Tuesday PM, as the market on Wednesday happens right in front of the hotel and blocks access, requiring parking a couple of blocks away.
    • Hotel in an enchanting village, near a castle and with beautiful walkways through a lush park. The restaurant is good, with plenty of space to eat outside, in sun or shadow. Reservation recommended!
    • Very nice owners and staff, good restaurant et very nice breakfast - we recommend Hotel Geerts warmly and will come back again :-) Thank you

    Cons -

    • Can't think of anything, really
    • It was a bit disappointing not to be able to get any food after 9pm.
    • Different price advertised at the hotel reception, then what we paid to booking.com ( euro 170 / euro 188!) not very happy with that

The Breakfast was basic but good, the staff are friendly but sometimes hard to find. Was not sure when the Restaurant was open.

we have family in Geel so this was convenient and great location with a bookstore across the street and a fun Market in Wednesday. breakfast was really good and our breakfast seat was always waiting for us and coffee brought as soon as they saw us enter. the fresh breakfast juice was always a treat. lovely grounds and easy to get to many sites. staff was very helpful.

This is a clean, pleasant hotel in a quiet small town. Breakfast is excellent.

It was a bit disappointing not to be able to get any food after 9pm.

    For us the perfect location

    Nothing really

This is a beautiful hotel and despite being in the centre of the town was very quiet and tranquil.

However, despite emailing the hotel about our arrival (by train), they did not inform us of the problems with actually getting to the hotel. For travellers like ourselves, arriving by train, taxis need to be pre-booked well in advance (even the day before does not guarantee availability). From Herentals train station the cost was 60Euros -one way. To get to Geel was 40 Euros. There is very little public transport (no busses over the weekend). The hotel could have informed us of this and apart from giving us many telephone numbers for local taxi companies, they did not offer to take us to the station.

    Comfortable, clean, and centrally located.

We told the receptionist upon arrival that we would not be having breakfast as we had an eRly departure. She said that was fine, they would deduct on checkout. Lady in the morning was not in a good mood and gave us a story about her employee telling people the wrong information. After such a nice stay, to end this way was not nice. Bottomline you pay for breakfast regardless.

    Building looks good.

    - everything is old- breakfast is minimal and same every day- staff is inattentive. was completely ignored by the waiter in the restaurant:) sat there for like 20 mins and left to eat elsewhere. - location is very bad. Very noisy center of the village, drunk people shouting on the square till very late, parking blocked on Wednesday.

The welcome was welcoming and personal. The room was nice and the breakfast was excellent.

Lovely boutique hotel. Very friendly staff and owner. Really good onsite restaurant, very accommodating as we arrived late. Good size room and very comfortable bed.The gardens are very nice too.

the room and hotel were okay

Wednesday they have "market day" cannot park in the hotel or outside, you need to park 300m from the hotel and I had 4 suitcases. I needed to park the car in the night far away, come back, and in the morning to go 2 times to check the car is okay and i parked in the right place, and to put the suitcases in the car. They should write clear - Not for business travel coming on Tuesday night. ohh, and the restaurant closes at 21:30.

We loved the friendliness of the staff. The garden and the restaurant are what makes this hotel worth the 4stars and what made our stay so pleasant. The room was very clean, large and modern. The bed was very comfortable and there was a fridge, a fan and coffee/expresso machine in the room. Breakfast was very nicely presented with an excellent choice and variety. We enjoyed our stay.

We clicked on the booking for a room with 2 single beds. On arrival, we received a room with 1 large bed. Unfortunately, the booking for 2 beds was not received via this website and it was impossible to get another room. This was unfortunate as I travel with my son and we really want 2 single beds... We solved it by 'dividing' the bed with pillows and rolled up towels. I understand the error was not on the hotel's side, but it was unfortunate and caused us some stress. I advice people to contact the hotel directly if you have specific requests. Don't count on this website to communicate everything you click on.

The staff was friendly, the breakfast was very good. The room was big and clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The dinner at the restaurant has a beautiful view and the food is very good.

The hotel is going through some maintenance/improvement works so there was loose wiring pending from the ceiling in the room and in the corridors. There were some noises from those works early in the morning on the 1st day.The curtains did not block properly the sun early in the morning. It was possible to hear quite well when other guests were in the shower or using water.

    Large bedroom

No receptionist on Wednesday, check-in impossible from 12:30 to 13:30...I had to stay in the rain nobody replied at the phone....unacceptable for a 4* hotel
