- There was noone and I spoke to them before I booked. They didnt send me a door code and there was noone there on the time of the approved check in time. I called them the whole day on the day of travel and they were unreachable so I had to book somewhere else. The property didnt even react to messages a day later or the day after I also send them to get a doorcode like spoken about on the phone before I booked. Now I have to wait five days for booking.com to look into it and hopefully send my money back. I wished I had booked this via Paypal for buyer protection because this is just bullshit. Luckily the locals were really nice and helped me to get around and book somewhere else.
- This one was a surprise. I didnt realize it was so far from Basel when I booked. Probably wouldve stayed closer to the city but it was an interesting experience. Youre out in the country! Theres a working farm on the property with bison. Its off the beaten path but beautiful with hiking trails. Our room with a view was big with comfortable bedding and a thick robe for going to the shared bathrooms. Nice patio with a view and elegant dining room. We rented a car to get there.
- Traditional Continental breakfast with some good local produce.
Cons -
- No access. Hard to reach.
- There were two bathrooms on our floor with showers so we had to wait our turn. If you like to spend time primping or taking a long shower this probably wouldnt be a good fit. I found a third bathroom on the floor below for toilet use when needed. Some young men had a bathtub party and flooded the floor but staff was quick to clean it up. Luckily they were quiet at night.
- Floorboards were very noisy. Considering a shared bathroom, thta was a shame.
