We ended up at this hotel unexpectedly due to a car breakdown—and what an incredible silver lining it turned out to be! The owners were absolutely phenomenal: kind, welcoming, and truly went above and beyond to make us (and our dogs) feel at home. The whole property is beautifully maintained, with lush gardens, a lovely pool, and a peaceful, relaxing ambiance that felt like paradise in the middle of a stressful situation. It’s clear that animals are genuinely welcome here, not just tolerated. Breakfast was plentiful, toasty, and delicious—such a comforting start to the day. What a hidden gem! We’ll definitely be back under better circumstances.

This is a beautiful 16th century chateau. Not only can you stay in the chateau itself but there are other properties in the grounds you can stay in too. Our room was decorated and cleaned to a high standard. The room has air conditioning which also generates heat into the room if required. The host was so welcoming and created a very relaxed and trusting atmosphere. The breakfast buffet was immense with eggs, bread, cheese, ham, croissants etc. The breakfast room was full of character and atmosphere. To top it all there is also a swimming pool with sun loungers for residents use.

Make sure you have mosquito repellent if sitting with a gin and tonic in the garden. ??

Very friendly and flexible host. The host let us use their freezer, and let us take coffee to go. Nice hotel in a building from the 16th century.

Greenery. It felt like we visited fairy tale house. It felt like home . The garden is so beautiful. Trees around the hotel are so big and so old. Space for breakfast inside and outside is so calming and welcoming. Very Special place with a lot of magic!!! We will come back ???

We understand how complicated it is to keep space this big in perfect shape with all the details taken care of. We liked the balance that the owners make to make this hotel run. Price totally justified.

Will not stay at the place again

Room was overpriced and terribly small room with the worst stay so far. Place smelled bad.

Lovely older mansion and a treat to be able to stay there. We were given a lovely room overlooking the pool. Host was very friendly

A 16th century family home now run as a hotel. Not your usual run of the mill hotel. Full of character. Pleasant and helpful staff. Made you feel very at home.

Nothing — but because of the age of the property and the spiral staircases, I’m not sure how accessible it would be for people with disabilities.

Fabulous welcome for us and our dog! We loved the bar , the comfy bed , the delicious breakfast. The owners were very personable and helpful.

La GabetiereThis a lovely place with a lovely hostess. She is very attentive and kind to her guests, including the four legged ones. It’s a great experience to stay in such a historical house. So many nice features to look at and enjoy. There is a nice terrace and beautiful garden with plenty of possibilities to sit and enjoy. We went to a lovely Italian restaurant just a 5 minute drive up the road.

Super 16th Century property lovely welcoming feel, plenty of space and seating areas in the public areas for all to use.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

Location and friendly owners.

The room we stayed in was very small and tired. Needs modernisation doing to it. Couple of things didn’t work.
