Nothing bothered

Situated in the middle of Gérardmer, you are quickly at the lake, the shopping street and restaurants. For cyclists a good start to explore the Vosges region. The restaurant still breads the efforts of the first owners.

I asked for a family type of room and the confirmation took weeks.Up on arrival, there were festivities on the parking square in front of the hotel and some roads were blocked. Hotel management did not inform anybody about this. Due to the warm days, we had to sleep with our windows open (no airconditioning) but due to the noise outside, it was hard to fall asleep. At about 2 o’clock, al went mostly silent apart for some drunk people passing by. If I knew before, I would have booked elsewhere.The front desk officer was not of the social type where we did not receive a firm greeting at arrival. Also at departure, it is common to ask the guest if he/she had a pleasant stay. We weren’t asked. Pay the bill and leave. Staff is wearing free time clothing, no formal dress code. Never have I seen that before.We were (wrongfully) under the impression that breakfast was included in the price. Front desk officer did not discuss our reservation upon arrival to inform us about the extra costs. I would have payed them anyway, but I like to be informed about the price first. There is no price difference for children.The bar closes very early in the evening. At 21h30 we were told no drinks were possible.They tried to renovate the rooms, but it is porely done. Wall paper is coming loose, moist and fungus on the wall and ceiling, tiles are placed by an amateur and edges are not finished with caulking.Bathroom is very very small!

The style of our room was adorable and well designed. Additionally our room had a balcony. The location of the hotel was very close to the lake. The restaurant and the lobby downstairs looked amazing and newly designed. We didn’t eat there so I don’t know about the quality of the food.

There was an unpleasant smell in the hotel, especially in the hallway and in our room as well. I guess it comes from the old carpet. My parents had a room upstairs , they had no carpet in their room and the smell was better.we all couldn’t sleep in that beds, the mattresses were horrible.

Beautiful decor for the room, perfect location very central with easy parking. Warm welcome and easy checkin. Pleasant stay. And got to see the market on Thursday morning.

The music lasted longer than the opening hours of restaurant and I could smell smoke in my corner room on the 1st floor from the bar.

It is well located

They are supposed to be three stars. There is no elevator.they didn’t even give us hand soap. There was some kind of party in the restaurant and we couldn’t sleep until midnight. Very noise hotel. Breakfast really poor.

Location is excellent, the breakfast was also really good and the staff are extremely friendly and ready to help

Bad

I had to cancel my booking 5 days before my stay. The hotel charged me 50% of the rooms, so watch their policy. Spoke with the manager and Booking.com but they refused to fully refund me. Two weeks after I am still waiting for this refund… The reception staff doesn’t speak English which could be an issue too for international travelers.

Calm, clean & close to the lake & the restaurants (the best I recommend is Bistror Mini M).

- There’s no elevator, only stairs.- The shower head was broken & the staff knew about it.

Whe I arrive there everything was complete different from what booking showed in the page. The room was very old and the bathroom was not clean. I complained and the recepcionista was not helpful.

The room was very old, very noise, no elevator I have to go to the third floor with all my luggages. The bathroom was not so clean.

Rules, there were so many and almost written in an aggressive manner, extra costs for this and that. 25 euro fine if check out 15 mins late (we didnt but the threat was there)

Coffee machine leaked daily. No personnel available.

We loved the location of the hotel and the restaurant that is located in the hotel. The food is delicious and the staffs are super welcoming.

The only downside of the room is that we can hear people's footsteps above the room.

Receptionist was friendly. Location was perfect for staying 'downtown' with parking adjacent. Shower was very good. Rolladen blinds perfect for keeping the room dark.

Walls are very thin so even though I asked for 'a quiet' room, the noise from neighbouring rooms kept me awake. The room was very small, too small for a couple. The bathroom was so small that access was difficult. No elevator warning!
