Pros +
- We keep returning to this hotel. The town, the location, the atmosphere of the hotel is irresistible.
- Breakfast was fine. The overall family-vacation in Vermont venue was good. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and friendly. One felt comfortable being there and it was appreciated.
- Lobby, bar, sitting areas, room all very nice. Staff and service was excellent.
Cons -
- Did not like the first room they put us in, but we were able to switch to another room. The Red Rooster restaurant used to b better
- I thought the quality of the room considering the $754.00/night fee was quite shabby and small. My major concern was the quality of the food for dinner in both restaurants. The food preparation was an attempt to be special and it was was just awful. In both restaurants, the prepared dinners were not good. Again, considering the expenses and the fact that one is a captured audience for dinner in tiny Woodstock, dinner was a major disappointment. High prices and not good food preparation. A simple NE family restaurant generally provides better meals.
- Had a Garden wing room which was very nice, but the entry to that area felt like going into the basement.

The property was beautiful in a beautiful little town.
The staff were rude and not not particularly helpful. We had an amazing waiter on Saturday evening at Red Rooster but baring him everyone else could do with a customer service lesson. Example I ordered a red wine at the bar and my drinks were slammed down with a “there you go”, check out no ask of how our stay was etc.
