    Disappointing
Overall, the staff were pleasant enough. The bar and restaurant area was nice, and I enjoyed the log fire, which gave it a nice homely feel. Breakfast was excellent 👌
No heating in our room and very worn in areas. There was no TV remote, so we were unable to watch TV. The toilet did not flush properly on arrival. However, staff kindly tried to fix this. Im not sure the standard was worth the cost for our overnight stay. This suited us as we were close by where we needed to be the next day. .

    Breakfast was highlight
Atmosphere of bar, fire place, breakfast, comfortable bed.
Lumpy hard pillows, size of room only allowed 1 chair so nowhere to sit for 2 people, unwelcoming check in, same staff member accused us of not paying for dinner the night before after another staff member who waited our table informed us that dinner charge would be added to our room, stained pillowcase, no small refrigerator in room so only uht milk in tiny pods (we asked each morning for a small jug of milk which was supplied upon request), at dinner my husband ordered beef and wine pie but was given chicken instead. Nothing within walking distance from pub, but that's our fault for not researching the location better.
