really nice rooms and a great location
staff could be a bit better. They are less accommodating to westerners, than they used to be. I stayed here before about 3.5 years ago and it was much better

This comment is for the booking platform.
When making a booking, I stated it was booking for the guest, thus using my credit card. Am in Singapore. When my wife and mother-in-law reached the hotel, the staff informed need to give a 1500 RMB deposit and refund at the end of stay.
Also, they cannot make any payments from my credit card as I am not physically there. The staff needs to see the card physically, no photos are allowed. My wife had to use her own card on the day of checkout.
This experience, wasn't pleasant, as I expect all charges to be deducted from my card when making the booking from [Link Redacted]
There was no notice of:
Need to give 1500 RMB as deposit
Need to produce the actual credit card
Cannot use the same card in booking for payment of the rooms.
