Pros +
- The staff were particularly nice and accommodating.the room was spotless and the comments about it being dated are unfair, it is class and quality in my opinion. I would definitely stay here again but I would eat at their restaurant rather than locally as it is very appealing and the pub we went to was exceptionally underwhelming.
- It was spotless clean, staff was so friendly rooms was comfy beautiful location
- Quiet location easy to find lovely views the room came with its own patio outside to sit & chill . Staff very helpful & friendly
Cons -
- Everything was of a very good standard
- Thought it was expensive for 1 night
- It took almost 30 mins to check in as there was a couple in front of us that needed to change room.Four of us( two couples) checked in to two double rooms. At breakfast next morning we were told that our rooms were single occupancy so only one person per room could have breakfast!?! Why not mention this at check in, when four people are standing there? We were then told that we could pay an extra £22 per person for us all to get breakfast! On the non resident menu, breakfast was £14 !Rooms were probably considered grand in the 1980s, now very tired, clean but old, no usb plugs, tv ariel was not plugged in ? Ironing board cover fell off, smelly old blankets thrown in bottom of wardrobe, faulty heating system, taps on bathroom sink loose, bath tiny, and golfers gathering on green right outside patio so no privacy.

Food was amazing. Staff were very friendly.
The room was dated. And we stated it was our mini moon after our wedding, and all that was in our room was a card that didn't even have our names written in it. We thought for such a special occasion there would be more of an effort made. However we were given a glass of prosecco from the restaurant with our last dinner. We did appreciate that very much.
Disappointed
Room was dated, floor was sticky in bathroom. Mold on bath mat.
Room was comfortable and lovley view.staff very helpful and friendly.
No porridge or yoghurt left for breakfast and wrong breakfast given .
Really great experience with the room, spa facilities but breakfast was a let down and arrived cold and overcooked otherwise great stay!
Breakfast very cold and overcooked
The staff were very helpful and friendly
No fridges in the room. No lift
A lovely location with great views from the restaurant. Always had a very comfortable stay on the numerous times I've visited in the past
Have stayed a number if times over the years but always seem to get allocated rooms overlooking the back of the property, even when paying what I consider are top prices.
Wonderful View from our room , staff all pleasant and friendly , spotlessly clean everywhere and the food was amazing , great place to stay
Nothing at all , it was all perfect
Beautiful position , fabulous views
Breakfast was disappointing, bacon very hard, not fresh.
Lovely staff, very friendly, and great facilities. Really nice room (albeit slightly dated) with a view over the golf course! The restaurant was so lovely, with amazing food, and the bar was nice too, with an outside area overlooking the golf course.
Great location clean and good condition
Excellent service at the front desk. Dinner was very good and the service was excellent.Same for breakfast.
Great location, stunning grounds. Spa facilities were excellent
Awful hotel and management. Stay at your own risk.
I have never written a negative review before for a hotel, staying away regularly with work.I have stayed at this hotel on 2 occasions, the first I changed rooms as it was dirty and missing light bulbs etc.The 2nd more recent stay was worse in terms of a burn I sustained on my wrist from a fraction of a second touch on the 'scalding' towel rail in the bathroom. Clearly this was a dangerous appliance to cause such damage at this temperature. It was not simply warm or hot as you would expect, but literally burnt through my skin as I accidentally touched it when removing the towel. I completed an incident report form the next morning, for which the hotel will not send me a copy. The response from the management has been horrendous - no follow up, no response to my emails until chased but still no answer to what actions they have taken to remove this appliance or mitigate injury to another guest. As I said to them at the time, had a child touched ths rail, they would have no doubt been hospitalised. The manager seems to blame me for touching a 'hot' appliance with no apology or response to my emails and is clearly refusing to accept any responsibility for this incident. Customer care or safety clearly does not apply here and I would urge any hotel guests to think twice about staying at this establishment that markets itself as 4* with luxurious rooms. This could not be further from the reality.
Loved the hotel and the rooms were beautiful Staff was friendly Only one silly issue was The breakfast wasn't as good as other places It was just a standard quality. Overall beautiful hotel and I would definitely come back to stay
The staff especially reception and spa staff were friendly engaging and welcoming. Sadly the quality of the food seriously let our stay down. The room was a nice large room with lovely view, tired looking, bath mat covered in mould so unusable. Very quiet and comfy bed, so a very mixed review
This hotel is not what you imagine it will be from the website. From the Luke warm check in to the tired, dated rooms it’s very disappointing
No plug sockets by bed. Dusty rooms. Lamps with blown bulbs. Dated horrible bathrooms.
