This traditional family-run hotel enjoys a tranquil location in the Kipshoven district of Wegberg, close to the German-Dutch border, in North-Rhine Westphalia. Come to the Hotel Restaurant Esser and enjoy excellent gastronomy, and beautifully elegant hotel rooms. The restaurant enjoys a fine 40-year tradition, and serves up exquisite dishes and select wines. In fine weather you can relax in the beer garden. The barbecue evenings in summer are a treat for the whole family. Explore the beautiful surrounding countryside between the Schwalm and Nette rivers by bicycle. Alternatively make a day-trip to the cities of Mönchengladbach or Düsseldorf, which are both within easy reach of Wegberg.

- The bedroom was clean, comfortable and the en-suite nicely appointed.
- Comfortable bed & kind owner & simple but reasonable German breakfast.
- The hotel staff is really nice and friendly. Check-in and our was very quick and efficient. the have a nice terrace and parking is close by.
Cons -
- I wasnt very impressed y the food though the restaurant was clearly liked by people from the region. I had a potato and porcini soup that tasted too strongly of some seasoning. The crme brle was the worst I have ever had in spite of being flame-grilled at the table. The breakfast was not well topped up, mainly because the woman running the eating area was, I presume, also busy dealing with checkouts.
- We afraid but the hotel restaurant looks very good but it closed on Saturday. I hope next time.
- the room has a glas door to the bath room, and if you like to sleep in the dark its not possible to have a dark room in the morning, as light shines through from the bathroom window. the menu of the restaurant was a bit boring if you don't like to eat meet.
