    Pros +

    • This property surpassed my expectations. I was expecting a chateu-like milieu, which was there - every room is a little bit special and has a few nice touches. The staff was very friendly, and since there are only about 20 rooms or so at the property, it feels like everyone gets a bit of special attention. What was beyond expectations:- I was traveling with vegan family members. I would say that many hotels in the Hungarian countryside claim to cater for vegan guests, but at this hotel we got many things we did not expect: vegan starters, vegan cakes, and they were all delicious. The breakfast was a bit of an outlier, but it was more than compensated by the great lunch and dinner options.- Having the descendants of the noble family living at the castle gave it a bit of an extra royal touch.
    • Everything was wonderful! The castle itself, the surroundings, the green area with the lake. Very quiet. The breakfast was amazing!Highly recommend this accommodation to anyone.
    • The entire property is beautiful and inviting. From the moment you come on the ground you feel a peace and comfort that is refreshing to a weary traveler. The staff was attentive and extremely helpful, guiding us to the different places on the property. The room was very comfortable and spacious.

    Cons -

    • Overall I can't complain, just very small things - like the wind causing a bit of noise during night with the blinds. But this is very hard to solve at a relatively old building where everything has been restored to its original state.
    • We made a special reservation of the honneymoon suit in order to celebrate my birthday. We let the hotel know that it is my birthday. We checked if there is an airconditioning in the room and got a confirmation. On arrival we were greated by the receptionist who gave us a key to room four ,didn't offer help with the luggage and send us up.Once we entered the small room it was obvious that this is not the suit.We went to the reception. He pretend at first not to unxerstand and then admit that he gave our suite to someone else! We insist to speak wth tha manager. Her story took a different direction. She said that only the small rooms have airconditioning. Why did you not inform us about it? Why did you took 187 Euro and put us in a less than 100 Euro room without even saying anything about it? -She did not have answers to the questions .She said that they will return half our money ( which simply is the price of the simple room) and she didn't charge one beer and two coffees. My birthday was ryined and they even did not compensateThey simply decieved us.And dinner was a real shameful buffet.
    • I knew I booked a room in a castle but did not expect no air conditioning, during the day you could not stay in the room, during the night it was more manageable but still had to sleep naked. Also, the bathroom did not look like in the picture from the site, the bathroom floor looked like it was made 100 years ago and not updated until today, I suspect that the picture from booking is altered to look different. Also, there was a strange smell in the building and in the room.We left after one night.

We loved everything about this hotel--the castle itself, the grounds, the nearby village, the food, the fact that you could walk all over the castle and explore and the fact that it is so close to Budapest!

    Everything was wonderful!

Very big castle, nice renovated and decorated, huge corridors, clean rooms, comfortable beds and quality products. The breakfast was very variated, good coffee and the most impressive thing for me, it was that entire building was well heated although outside is was very cold. I think this is crazy expensive, however the price per night is very convenient.

Check jn at 10.00. Although they agreed to extend a little bit because we check in around midnight.

    10DanitaPosted on: 10-7-2024

Absolutely amazing! The castle, the rooms, the restaurant, the food. Pet friendly. Loved everything.

A few more signs how to reach the reception would be helpful.

The park is beautiful, the palace is great, it is still silent.

    7SheldonPosted on: 9-19-2024

While the property is remote, quiet, and beautiful, the actual palace is in need of work. The room we had was not what I reserved and the room we got had significant water damage. This facility could be spectacular with some work.

While the hotel did provide a bottle of champagne, we did not get the room we booked. Unfortunately, old and tried was not what I thought we were getting.

Everything was great. Place is beautiful, breakfast excellent, dinner very tasty, cleaning and restaurant staff fantastic. Point down for main receptionist as her manners at check out we're not the best.

Main receptionist. I was asking her something at check out and she just turned around and started talking to another receptionist while I was still talking to her. Didn't even bother to apologize after or say excuse me need to urgently tell something to my colleague. Not a behaviour I would expect at a place like this.

Beautiful place, very well-maintained property, lovely stay.

Property is very well maintained and clean, yet you could see that they are fighting with some traditional issues that are a result from period decorations. Not a big deal at all but chairs outside on the patio were wobbly :)

    10SnezanaPosted on: 8-29-2024

We had just one overnight in Karolyi Kasteli, and everything was excellent, staff highly professional, breakfast with champagne was my absolute favorite. In a moment you could really find yourself in past aristocratic times. Gardens are wonderful.

    10Miky_jePosted on: 8-25-2024

Very nice location with friendly staff.Have a walk around the gardens, they are amazing. The restaurant was nice, food was good and the staff was very friendly.

Maybe the lack of an elevator for luggages but its understandable due to the location. The TV was not working, maybe the batteries were old.

    Beautuful castle, maintained

Just the view from the window is very bad. That's based on the castle architecture and is difficult to change it. Or not possible.

    10Jonathan M.Posted on: 8-10-2024

    Perfect location and magnificent breakfast

No air condition on ground floor rooms a bit challenging summer months but kind receptionist gave us extra cooler.

    10JuliePosted on: 8-3-2024

Beautiful and scenic location with an arboretum and walking trails around the property. The castle has a quant charm and the newly renovated rooms are a balance of modern.

We stayed two night and during the first breakfast, most of the food was gone only an hour into serving. We made sure we arrived early the next morning.

    8RuthPosted on: 7-27-2024

Perfect breakfast. Nice location. Welcome drink included.

Room far away from the lift. Bathtub and no shower curtain.

Only location in the area in class close to blue trail.

    Noisy AC no spa
