Hotel Restaurant des Deux Vallées

This is a classic old style French hotel-restaurant, right on the Main Street. The rooms are spare but very clean. The food was excellent: the kitchen punches way above its weight. We were given a room facing away from the street, and the sound of the Truyere river was lovely and soothing. We were cycling through, along the Lot river. They offered a garage for our bikes! All the staff we encountered, especially our server at supper, were friendly, helpful and proud of their regional specialties. Booking.com probably doesn’t deserve them.

Great location on the edge of the very pleasant and lively town: so a short walk but no town noise. The charming patron was very helpful in switching rooms to make wi-fi available. Comfortable room with great bathroom. Really enjoyed the stay.

Better quality wi-fi (see above). As advice, if you want to avoid traffic noise ask for a room at the back.

Lack of Wifi

Dinner was very good, the room was comfortable and the bathroom modern with an excellent walk in shower. The location is fine for exploring the old town and river.

Breakfast was disappointing and cake heavy with stale croissants.

Bedroom small and decor jaded. Bathroom was ok. Bed just ok. As with most French properties, not enough pillows, even to sleep let alone sit up comfortably!
